Activation Issues with Deployment to Citrix Farm Servers via PVS

Good morning everyone!

The company I work for uses Citrix. We use Citrix Provisioning Services to maintain one "Master" Operating System Image. That image is then deployed to 60 provisioned servers.

We installed Acrobat X on the Master image and it works fine, however, when we deploy it to the 60 different servers, users are getting a message that activation has been installed on too many computers. We only have 8 licenses because only 8 users use the product. However, because the users are load balanced between the 60 servers, the product needs to be installed on all of them.

We only have 8 users using the product and 8 licenses. How can we get this working on 60 servers without being prompted to activate?

Do we have to purchase more licenses for the other servers? or is there a way to change the configuration so that the product is activated on all 60?

It doesn't make sense for us to purchase, for example, 30 licenses (to cover every server) when there are only 8 users that use the product.

Thanks in advance,

Nate

Did you install with a RETAIL license serial number or VOLUME license serial number?

What is the "exact" error message that you recieve?  A screenshot would be helpful to forum users.

This is an image right?

Try doing this process:

1. The administrator has to run APTEE on an online machine to generate prov.xml.

2. Deployment has to happen without exception.

3. APTEE has to be run with this prov.xml on all secondary machines.

Here is the ETK documentation about APTEE:  4   Installation Workflows — Enterprise Administration Guide
