Adobe Acrobat DC - disable sign in to activate software

I have used the customization wizard, input my serial number and every time I install the Acrobat package I am prompted to Sign In to Activate my software.

In the customization wizard I have tried to click "Grant Offline Exception", but I get an error every time (log at bottom).

I need to find a way to disable this box as the users that have the software will not have an associated Adobe account to activate the software.

Can anyone help?

Try installing manually without the Wizard and see if it installs and accepts your license. Post back.

I'm a little confused because the behavior cannot be the same since you can't grant an offline exception during a manual, one time, end user install.

I'm interested in knowing if your serial number actually works at all. Can you install Acrobat with your license so that it is not a trial version? You will have to sign in to perform this test.

I cant force an offline exception when I do the manual install, but I thought you were asking if I still received the prompt to activate when I did a manual install.

If I sign in, the product activates and is NOT running in trial.

Ok. So we know the license is good. Did you press the Grant Offline Exception button after entering your serial number in the Wizard? You need to sign in on behalf of your users.

I fill in the serial number and then press 'Grant Offline Exception & Disable Registration', thats when I get the error "Offline exception grant process failed. Please reger to oobelib.log in %temp% folder and wizard help for more details.

So there is no way to get around activation of the software other than to have every user login with an Adobe account after we have installed it via SCCM?

How does one get the Offline Exception piece to work? If the button is there, obviously it is mean to do something.

Of course there is a way. . . that's what we're trying to figure out. There is an issue with your environment, something in your workflow that is causing a problem, or something else as yet undiscovered. All admins grant the offline exception and you're the first reporting the problem.

My last idea is to verify you're using a volume serial and then set the PRESERIALIZATION property on the cmd line. If that doesn't work, I'll try to rope someone in who can look at your logs. See Common Deployment Options and Methods — Enterprise Administration Guide

You could also use the aptee tool but you shouldn't have to do that.

How can I confirm if the serial I have is a volume serial?

If it is not a volume serial, is there no way around the software activation?

Try this. I was having the same issue with DC, found this post this morning. Even though it refers to XI, it worked. Strangest thing.

Right to the serial number there is button called “Grant Offline Exception”. Click it! If you don’t every single user will have to verify the license key over the internet.
In my case I got the following error message:
“Offline exception grant process failed. Please refer to oobelib.log in %temp% folder and wizard help for more details”

For me it was really a mess, as there was no log file in mentioned folder neither on the whole harddisk. So I googled a little bit and found nothing useful until I found in the comments on website the following advice which worked for me. There is a bug in the current version of the customization wizard which is causing this function to fail. The problem is, that the program is using a exe named adobe_prtk.exe which you can actually find in your Adobe Customization Wizard XI folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Customization Wizard 11). The application is looking for the file in the previous version folder! So just create a folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Customization Wizard 10 and copy the adobe_prkt.exe from the 11 to the 10 folder. That’s it!"
