Hello,
we use an internal update server to provide the latest Adobe updates to our users.
After learning about the security vulnerability in the earlier versions, I downloaded the latest updates last week. On Monday I tried to install the new version but was shown the following message:
FATAL: Fatal Error '125' occurred while download FATAL: Error occurred in download of package (Name: AdobePhotoshop26-de_DE_x64 Version: 26.3.0.2893). Error code: '125' WARN: No open ZIP file to close WARN: Failed to close the currently open file in the ZIP archive. WARN: Failed to close the ZIP archive.
The message makes sense because CC Desktop tries to install Photoshop 26.3.0.2893 but on our server there is only the folder for v26.2.0.140
I started a new fresh download with AUSST again yesterday but the issue still occurs.
All other apps could be updated without any problems, the problem only exists with the latest Photoshop version. Older versions of Photoshop can be installed as well.
Does anyone have a similar problem?

Hi @PatrickS.,
Thank you for reaching out and providing details regarding the issue. Based on the error logs and your description, it seems the latest Photoshop update isn’t syncing properly with your AUSST server. Below are some potential troubleshooting steps to help resolve this:
Error 125 occurs when AUSST is unable to reach Adobe servers. Check the internet connectivity and firewall settings, and then try again.
Verify Update Synchronization: Ensure that AUSST is configured correctly to sync with Adobe servers.
Manually Trigger a Full Sync: Use the following command to perform a full synchronization of all updates:
AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --root="c:\inetpub\wwwroot\updates" --fresh
This will ensure all the latest updates are downloaded to your server.
Check Folder Permissions: Verify that the AUSST folders (e.g., for Photoshop updates) have properly read/write permissions.

For more detailed troubleshooting, including analyzing log files, please refer to the following guide:
Adobe AUSST Troubleshooting.
Note on Version Discrepancy
The error snip indicates a package download attempt for AdobePhotoshop26-de_DE_x64 Version: 26.3.0.2893. However, the current release version of Photoshop 2024 (desktop) is 26.2. Please double-check this discrepancy to ensure you are attempting to sync the correct version. More details on the latest versions can be found here: Photoshop Updates.
Could you share the log files for the specific error, if possible? This will help us provide more targeted assistance.
Looking forward to your response.

Hi @Anshul_Nautiyal!
Thank you for you response.
Is there a difference between "adobe_update_server_setup_tool.exe --sync --full" and "AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool.exe --root="X:\inetpub\wwwroot\updates" --incremental" ?
The second command is the one I usually use to download the updates and I also tried this one yesterday.
The whole error message I get is:

As you see in the following screenshot, my CC Desktop App shows "Photoshop v26.2" as a new update. But the error still says it tries to download 26.3... which is the next Beta version I guess.
There should not be a problem with the user permissions as I can install other versions of Photoshop and all other applications without any issue.
As seen in the next Screenshot, these are the versions downloaded via setup_tool.exe
I think there is an issue with the config file that is responsible to tell the Desktop App which file to download, but I don't know where to find this file.
Which specific log files would you like to get?
Best regards, Patrick

Hi @PatrickS.,
Thanks for providing additional info. The first command will redownload the full set of updates and replace any corrupted downloaders. It's particularly useful if there are any issues with missing or incomplete files. The incremental command will avoid redownloading the entire set of updates and will only sync new or updated patches. You can clean up obsolete or unneeded products by using the cleanup functionality. This removes old versions that may be causing conflicts. More on this can be found in the Adobe AUSST Common Use Cases.
The error mentions C:\adobeTemp already exists. Clear this directory and any temporary files in the update directory to avoid conflicts.
Sharing the log files can provide more insights into the issue. The relevant log files are:
AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool.log
AdobeAcrobatUpdateServerSetupTool.log
Let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with!

Hi Anshul,
I also tried the incremental download but the error still occurs.
I tried deleting C:\adobeTemp and start the update again, now I get this error:

Nothing really changed, I tried to enclose the log files but the AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool.log will be removed as soon as i try to post it.
Best regards, Patrick
