Hi Ravi1988,

Once an MST is applied during an install, another MST can’t be used later during an update (say, to change one setting).

The way the Windows Installer Technology works is that during an update or repair, the installer references the MST file that the installation used when it was first installed.

The only way to use a different MST is to uninstall the product and then reinstall with a new MST file.

So, I would suggest you to try completely uninstalling Acrobat (PRO DC & Reader DC) and then reinstall creating a new MST.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi Bani Verma,

Here we are not trying to apply any new MST during update.

Scenario:

Adobe reader DC is installed in the machine . we need to uninstall it during the installation of Adobe acrobat Pro DC . So while creating "Adobe acrobat Pro DC" package we choose the option "Remove all versions of Reader" using Acrobat customization wizard DC. But during the installation of "Adobe acrobat Pro DC"   already installed Adobe reader DC is not getting removed and it just getting upgraded to latest version.

Are you using the Setup.exe or and MSI command line?  I believe the Setup.exe is the required method for this setting to triggered.

Using command line Setup.exe /sALL

the main hurdle is even with custom wizard enabling to remove any reader Version, its not happening with Acrobat DC

it has any limitation?

we have Reader DC and Pro DC installed on same machine. ideally it should un-install Reader DC when selecting that option during customization.

Hi Ravi1988,

You may also try running the Acrobat cleaner tool through the command line in silent mode to uninstall Reader DC before running the command for installing Acrobat Pro DC, the steps do that and the tool are given here: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs.

Hope this helps.

Hi Bani

I can do a simple MSI uninstall using product code

The whole POINT is why Acrobat is not removing Reader DC while selecting option during customization?

This was moved to Enterprise deployment forum for a reason? I'm looking for a stable package for Mass deployment.

It will have been moved here because it's the right forum for the question. This is where the experts are on this subject. Do you feel there is a better one?
