Anybody using AdobeSerialization.exe in a batch file?

Recently, I've had some issues with a serialization batch file based on adobe_prtk.exe. On a couple of occasions, I've tried to use the tool to serialize a trial package of CC 2014 downloaded by our instructors and it didn't seem to work. I was able to reproduce this on a test workstation. Running the serialization tool build from CCP (AdobeSerialization.exe) worked flawlessly. Instead of trying to diagnose this issue with adobe.prtk, which has been working well in most cases, I'm thinking of replacing it with AdobeSerialization.exe in our deployment tool (Dell KACE).

My question is, are there any command line switches I should use or be aware of, or is it meant just to run on its own.

Thanks,

Ric

All I use is c:\adobe\adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=C:\adobe\prov.xml and that has worked well for us.
