CS6 - AAMEE Installation Failure

New Here ,
Jul 31, 2013 Jul 31, 2013

I am unable to install CS6 using the generated MSI file by AAMEE 3.1, I am running the following command from an administrative PowerShell window

msiexec /i CS6-AutoInstaller.msi /quiet

I have also tried the command above with out the /quiet and it shows the progress bar but it rolls back after a few seconds.

After reviewing the PDApp.log in the %temp% directory the last error is (including a few lines before and after for visibility):

[INFO] Utilities - File does not exist

[INFO] PIM-Uninstall - Launching RemoveAAM from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\RemoveAAM.bin

[INFO] AAMEEUtilities - Process creation completed.

[FATAL] DeploymentManager - The return code from the Adobe Installer Process is (33).Stopping the uninstallation process.

[INFO] DeploymentManager - Provisioning tool launch location is :: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\{D46B4614-C371-4D20-88A5-4117E6C796AD}\\{CB686F71-26E0-4404-9290-6CA0B8B8BA83}

[INFO] UninstallAAM - argc: 2

[INFO] UninstallAAM - Loading PIM.dll from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobePIM.dll

I can also provide the full log file if necessary.

The computer that I am testing with had CS5.5 Design Standard installed but has been uninstalled and I have cleaned up the temporary and program files directories.

Any ideas?

Romit,

Sorry for the confusion but what do you mean by the system configuration?

Are you referring to the OS or to the Adobe programs and how they are setup?

Romit,

Here is the information:

Windows 7 Enterprise x64

*Note - the account that I am using is also an administrator and I am running the msiexec command from an administrative powershell session.

Thank you,

Cory

Hi  CoryWolf88,

Please follow the mentioned steps:

1. Please perform selective startup and try instaling again, Selective startup: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-vista/run-selective-startup-using-system-configuration

Do you have any other Adobe software installed on your machine. If no please follow the below steps:

1. Go to C/Program Files(X86)/Common Files/Adobe and rename it

              C/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe and rename it

              C/Program Files/Adobe and rename it

              C/Program Files(X86)/Adobe and rename it

            C/Program Data/Adobe and rename it

             C/User/User Name/App data/Local/Adobe and rename it

Try to install the package again. If still does not work please enable hidden admin and try to install again: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/3040.enable-disable-the-local-hidden-buil...

Regards,

Romit Sinha

Romit,

I tried the above steps and still recieved the same FATAL error message as the above with a 1603 error message in the Event Viewer for the MSI process.

*Note - the local "hidden" administrator account is already enabled on the computer and is being used to perform the installation.

Would you like me to send you the full PDApp.log file?

Thank you,

Cory

Please send me the PDApp.log. Also try the mentioned steps in KB for error 1603: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-1603-install-cs5-products.html

LATEST

Romit,

What is the best way to get this log file to you? Also, I noticed that there are quite a few other log files related to the installation (MSI829b3.LOG, DLM_Native.log, PDApp.log, oobelib.log and swtag.log) would you like me to send these along as well?

I tried the steps in the 1603 KB article above before re-running the installation but still received the MSI 1603 exit code. *Note the MSI installation gets about half way through and then rolls back (i can visually see the progress bar go back)...

Thank you,

Cory
