CS6 Design Standard - windows 8 - deployment

New Here ,
Sep 24, 2013 Sep 24, 2013

Using the deployment tools provided by Adobe we have created 64bit and 32bit packages, the 32 bit versions are working great in our windows 7 machines, but the 64bit  packages are not installing on windows 8.

They fail with a status of 1603.

The MSI log is riddled with:

sxsdelca: Skipping component   2:  downlevel_manifest.8.0.50727.1833.97F81AF1_0E47_DC99_FF1F_C8B3B9A1E18E

sxsdelca: Skipping component   2:  downlevel_payload.8.0.50727.1833.97F81AF1_0E47_DC99_FF1F_C8B3B9A1E18E

then the operation simply roles back - and nothing installs.

Any ideas on where to troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi DanBakerstl,

Could you please try running the .msi from Command prompt as an Admin. Also you can try doing Selective Startup.

regards,

Abhijit

I have tried this from the local admin account, and also from an administrative prompt.  When you say selective startup what things would you want be to disable on startup?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi DanBakerstl,

Do you have any previous version Adobe software installed on your machine.
