Hi

My desktop CC app keeps crashing meaning I cannpt download the new apps.

This has been going on for several weeks, no amount of un-installing and reinstalling helps. I tried a session yesterday with Adobe controlling my machine but they were trying to get into the root directory which I didn't like as we have admin passwords on our macs due to security for our clients.

Is there a place to download the new apps directly, I mean fully packaged files. Some links people have suggested are just an icon which then links to the CC desktop app, which then crashes as mentioned above.

We use adobe for teams. There is an article suggesting to download adobe packager, but following the link doesn't take me to adobe packager, plus the advice is NOT to install adobe packager on a mac running any adobe apps! So more barriers.

Any help would be great thanks

GilesHicks, good evening.
In Creative Cloud for terms, it is impossible to install without CCDA (Creative Cloud Desktop App).
If it is Creative Cloud for Enterprise, it is possible to create and install a package without CCDA with Packager, but an administrator password is required to run Packager itself.

GilesHicks, good evening.
If CCDA crashes, there are other possible causes, so you should try the steps posted below and try to reinstall CCDA.

Step1.

Complete deletion of related files and settings files using Creative Cloud Cleaner.

Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation issues

Step2.Download and install CCDA from the link below.

Download the Creative Cloud desktop app

* Please do this with an OS account with administrator privileges.

If you have Creative Cloud for Teams, then you should be able to use the included 'Admin Console' to create your own custom install packages:

Alternatively, for customers with Creative Cloud for Individuals, you can request the 2020 offline installers:
