Email PDF not interactive

New Here ,

I have created a PDF from a form I created in excel. Using Adobe acrobat pro I covert the file and use prepare form to make certain fields fillable by others. I use the preview button and it seems to work the way I want.   Once I email the form it shows up to the recipient as a PDF but i no interactive fields, Can't do anything but print and view the document.  I have tried other documents from excel and have had the same issue.  Can you let me know what I am doing incorrectly so I can get this to work properly.  Thank You.

Hi Tjsheahan,

If you email the form to your different email and use the form in Adobe Reader or Acrobat, are you experiencing the same issue?

This may happen of the recipient is open the form in Mac preview or opening in a third party application.

If the above is related to your issue, would help us with the file? You may send the file using Adobe Send, Google Drive or DropBox.

And you may send the link via private message if the file is sensitive: How Do I Send Private Message

Hi Tariq Dar,

I think I had figured it out.  I realized that I was sending it to a work email and it was opening the files with a third party PDF reader.  Is there anyway to make it work with a third party PDF reader?  Unfortunately there are restrictions on what I can download to the phone or any other recipient can download to the phone.  I was trying to use the Track and Send function, however the website came up as a restricted website when I tried to use it.  Thank You for answering my questions the help is appreciated.

Tom.

Hi Tom,

Sadly, third party solutions don't respect all the standards of pdf forms or files and we don't have control over those solutions.

One thing I can tell is you may suggest recipients use Reader while using the form.

Or you may check Adobe Sign if that fits your requirement, that is a signature solution primarily but is browser driven.

And you can send forms as well and those signed. Adobe Sign, e-signatures online, formerly EchoSign | Adobe Document Cloud
