Hi,
I'm responsible for deploying CC to a University Lab environment. Last year we had issues with certain apps within the package prompting our students for updates. As this is a lab environment we routinely delete user profiles and lock down the machines so students cannot run apps and updates. So the update promps are not a deal breaker but we aim to provide a professional service and would prefer not to have it.
While building the package we disable all that looks like update services but I'm still concerned this will happen this coming academic year, and the problem being we won't know it works until Adobe release updates (do they provide a road map for this??).
I'm sure I'm not the only person with this problem so hopefully someone has a fix...

The users generally get a prompt/notification about the new update available for the CC apps and if the admin doesn't want the users to see the apps then you can uncheck the "enable self-service install" option while creating the package which will disable the apps panel for the users and they would not be able to update the apps.
