Hoping for an Adobe CC Cloud Drive

With all our designers working remotely to support 15 different brands, we have a ton of files (Illustrator and Photoshop mostly, but some video and 3D too). 

Our poor VPN and internal servers just aren't up to the task. CC Libraries is great for our frequently used assets, but the sheer number of files we keep and update makes it impractical. We have tried Apple's iCloud, but we have many sync issues with that since there are several designers with different Apple IDs. Google Drive is out, since it needs a web browser and can't integrate with the OS.

What we need is a fast syncing cloud drive that Adobe CC apps can open and save to without having to re-organize all of our files into CC Libraries or CC Spaces.

adobe cc apps wouldn't directly open onedrive, but there's not much extra needed.  so would microsoft's onedrive work for you?

Our IT dept suggested that and we tested MS One Drive as a team. But ultimately it failed us on several levels. All of our creatives are on Mac OS X and there were issues with slow sync, permissions and poor performance opening and saving files from Adobe CC.
We also tested iCloud Drive and found that, due to different Apple IDs being used and the way the iCloud Drive is shared, we had several sync issues that resulted in loss of work. We may test it again with a single enterprise Apple ID, but until we try that we are reticent to lose any more work...

Another thing I neglected to mention is our Creative Director is adimant that we NOT copy all working files to our local machine to work on them. The concern is that creatives will get distrated and/or forget to copy all the links back up to the shared drive. Also version control issues could pop up if 2 creatives use the same assets offline concurrently...

Have you considered/tried using Creative Cloud and it's File Sync? You can also share and collaborate on these files.

Another option would be to try Cloud documents, which are cloud native files built for collaboration and interop.

If you're on an CC enterprise or teams plan, you may be upgraded to Adobe storage for business, which will unlock company ownership of assets among others features. (If you haven't been upgraded already, you'll be notified in advance with adequate notice; I'm not aware of a way to specifically request for an upgrade)

We have several TB of files that we need access to and all of them are organized in a complex folder structure. For example, a given file might live in a structure like this:

Company/Division/Brand/Trade_Marketing/Projects/Packaging/Traypacks/2021/BrandX_21_ProductY_Traypack.ai

Would Cloud Documents Creative Cloud File Sync be able to handle that many folders/files and would we be able to upload them all at once and maintain our folder structures?

I'd also recomend that you read about Creative Cloud Spaces and Creative Cloud Canvas that were just announced. See: https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2021/10/26/creative-cloud-canvas-spaces-ps-ai-in-browser#gs.erltx2 and if interested apply to join the beta program. It's a more streamlined way to collaborate and ( I believe) uses more modern metaphors than folders and directories. It's like an infinite moodboard where your team can collect, ideate, execute your projects.
