What is the most reliable way to get the Serialization and/or prov.xml file to kick in after I've imaged, deployed, and rebooted a system?
Gratefully,

Hi,
Once you have deployed the trial version on the machines through imaging, you should use the serialization executable to serialize your CS6 products. Just run the serialization executable workflow of AAMEE and its output will be a folder containing AdobeSerialization.exe and a prov.xml file. You should copy this to all the systems where the trial is installed and then run this executable via command line -
AdobeSerialization --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=Absolute_Path_of_prov.xml
where
--tool=VolumeSerialize specifies that the tool needs to process the prov.xml file to serialize.
--provfile specifies the absolute file path to the prov.xml file,
By default, the tool looks for the prov.xml file in the same directory as the executable file and so typically you do not need to specify this option. (Specify this option only if the prov.xml file is in some
other location.)
This will serialize your CS6 products. For more information, please refer to page 40 of AAMEE documentation posted athttp://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html
if you face any issues, you can also mail me at skatariy@adobe.com

Is there a way to have this be triggered automatically when a machine boots the first time after its been restored from the image I create for it?

Hi, to serialize you need to run serialization executable, which should be run as commandline. this tool should run with elevated priviledges. There is no constraint in running this executable during system startup.

Terminal cannot find 'AdobeSerialization' command on the mac. Am I missing something?

Nevermind. I apparently have to start from scratch since I did not initially make a trial package with the serialziation exe. I hope in future aamee versions this whole process will be able to be avoided.

If you use unattend you can create a folder on your image and then make a FirstLogonCommand to have cmd run the activation. I use this exact commandline with FirstLogonCommands cmd.exe /c "C:\Adobe\AdobeSerialization.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize" and it works great. You can then make another oneliner to remove that dir so that users can't get access to the prov.xml.

Hi, we have released a new version of AAMEE (3.1), which supports imaging also. please get the latest release build from - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html
with this build if you create installation package (by entering serial number), then take a image. Licensing will not break, after image is deployed.

Rahul

Hi,
I assume you are trying to login using your Adobe id in AAMEE package creation workflow. Have you been able to create any package until now, or you are facing this issue at a certain instance.
Can you please share the PDApp.log file (on admin machine), to debug the root cause of this issue.
thanks,
Rahul

Was after I updated the AAMEE to 3.1. In my frustration I delted the old install and reinstalled it. But I can't seem to find the PDApp.log anywhere.

please launch AAMEE to create a new package and when you see this error screen, then please share PDApp.log copied to following location -
Win - %temp%
Mac - /User/<username>/Library/Logs/
Also are you using proxy on admin machine?
