I purchased photoshop elements 14 and Premiere Elements 14. It will not let me type in my Redemption number/Serial number

When typing in my redemption Code, it will not allow letters. What am I doing wrong. I've spent way too much time trying to get this software downloaded. I'm ready to take it back to the store and get my money back.
