Important Update: Discontinuation of Creative Cloud Synced Files for Business Plans

Hello, Enterprise & Teams Users,

This update reflects a recently implemented change designed to enhance your storage and collaboration experience.

Previously, Creative Cloud allowed users to save files on their local devices within the Creative Cloud Files folder. This folder's contents could be synced (copied) to cloud storage through a background process running on the local device. Users could then access their files either locally or via the Creative Cloud website under the Launch More menu (Synced Files option).

Discontinuation of Synced Files:  To enhance storage and collaboration capabilities, Adobe discontinued the Creative Cloud Synced Files feature for business accounts associated with organizations that existed before February 3, 2025.  This change affected users on Creative Cloud for Teams and Creative Cloud for Enterprise plans.

Impact on Users

  • Local Files: All assets in your Creative Cloud Files folder remained intact and under your complete control but no longer sync to Creative Cloud storage.
  • Shared Folders: Folders and assets previously shared via Creative Cloud Synced Files are no longer accessible to others. The Synced Files section will remain available on the Creative Cloud website until March 4, 2025, after which all assets within this cloud storage folder will be permanently deleted.
  • Changes to Creative Cloud Files Folder & Shortcut Removal: Upon sign-out, the Creative Cloud Files folder remains visible and was renamed with the user’s account details (which can still be changed if needed). Additionally, the shortcut to this folder was removed from the system.  Learn more about the completed changes.

Your Assets are Secure: Rest assured, all assets in your users' Creative Cloud Files folder remained intact and under their complete control. However, we strongly recommend moving assets to Adobe-supported storage solutions such as Frame.io or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets where applicable. Alternatively, consider third-party cloud storage solutions with sync capabilities or, at a minimum, backing up content locally to a different folder outside the Creative Cloud Files directory.

Important Notes for Administrators

Adobe continues to offer and support cloud-based storage solutions, including Cloud Documents, Creative Cloud Libraries, Frame.io, and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets, ensuring seamless saving, sharing, and collaboration across devices and applications. These storage solutions remain unaffected by the discontinuation of Creative Cloud Synced files.

Note:  Between February 3, 2025, and March 3, 2025, a special Package Download feature is available for downloading synced files. To retrieve content from the Creative Cloud website, you must use this feature. Zipped files will remain available until March 4, 2025. After this date, they will no longer be accessible on both desktop and mobile. You can find more details here

This update follows the announcement made in last year's post regarding the discontinuation of Creative Cloud Synced files for existing users, and we look forward to the next steps.
