Installshield Tuner v6.0.1

Hi all at Adobe; I was a little annoyed to spend a couple of hours wasting my time with this product - while in the end it worked, it was only after I changed my locale to US english. I spent time installing on other OS's and all sorts. 😞 I make a note in this forum as I was using it against an Acrobat Reader 6.0.1 installation.

I'm hoping this is a genuine mistake, I'm tired of the US thinking its the only way the world should be! (My personal opinion, no flames please! :)

See: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&threadm=2cd07497.-1%40webx.la2eafNXanI&r...

(Hope the link works.)
Cheers! Ian.

Errr... excuse me?! I don't see where the people on Google state which language that they were attempting their installations on. What language? Was it a supported language? What language are you attempting to use Tuner with?

System requirements
Microsoft® Windows® 2000 (Service Pack 2 or later) or Windows XP® (Service Pack 1 or later)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
Intel® Pentium® III or compatible 300MHz or faster processor
128MB of RAM
800x600 resolution, 256 color depth
Disk space: 100MB before installation and 50MB after installation is complete

The Tuner user interface is in English. However, Adobe has tested the operation of Tuner in the following localized environments: English, French, German, and Japanese. Adobe has tested customizing a localized version of the application
(for example, Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional Japanese) on a localized system (for example, Windows XP Professional Japanese), then installed that application with modifications on a localized system (for example, Windows 2000 Professional Japanese).

I encountered this issue with both tuner 6.0 & 6.01 and until I changed my Windows XP Regional Settings from English (Australia) to English (United States) I could not use the program to create an MST.
I also tried the application on a Windows 2000 machine and it also failed until the Regional Settings were changed.

I didn't find anything in the documentation that specifies that is must be English (United States) to work. It only mentions supporting English.

As the initial poster mentioned this is a real pain as you would thinks that as it works on a completely different language (ie French, German & Japanese) you wouldn't have problems running it on any English variant rather than just the US localisation of English.
