Issue with running Acrobat Ready X on Citrix XenApp Fundamentals

New Here ,

I recently rebuilt our Citrix server (XenApp Fundamentals 2.0 on Server 2003 32-bit) and needed to install Acrobat Reader. After installing it with the change user /install switch set it did not seem to run after clicking on the shortcut. After doing some research I found articles that indicate the need for a distribution license and a custom transform. I uninstalled the initial attempt and followed this process only to have the same result!

If I log into the server via RDP and double click the application icon nothing appears to happen. However, in the process list I find 2 instances of AcroRd32.exe. If I kill them and try again it just repeats. So it's like the application is launching, but not rendering any UI.

Has anyone else experienced this or have an idea of how to fix it?

Thanks!

In typical technical fashion, 10  minutes after I posted this I figured it out! After disabling protected mode the application loads fine.

Yep, that's what the Citrix doc in the admin guide says: http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobatitinfo.

Hi Jim,

The issue with citrix has been fixed in Reader10.1, so would request you to update your Reader version to 10.1 and don't disable ProtectedMode.

Thanks,

Vinod
