I recently bought a CC license after my old one expired. I have remnants of a CS4 installation on my Mac that is causing the Cloud Cleaner Tool to crash. There is no such thing as a current uninstall (Ventura) program for CS4. This is preventing my access to all CC Apps, even though my previous license worked. How do I get access to the products that I purchased?

do a clean cc install by carefully following each applicable step:
uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app*
*use the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

This did not help. It is difficult to remove Adobe processes with the Activity Monitor since they come and go regularly, specifically an Adobe crash process, which then alternates with some of the processes listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html. But if I restart, the Activity Monitor is clean but I still cannot use the Clean Up tool to remove CS4, the Cleaner hangs interminably.

But thanks for the advice!

1. i assume you had cs4 installed on a computer that had a compatible os and then you upgraded to an incompatible os.
2. your administrator is not doing their job. if they don't know how to solve the problem, they should contact adobe.
3. you posted in the wrong forum, causing incorrect "solutions" to be suggested.

What do you mean preventing access? CS4 should not cause any problems with the current CC versions.

This is just my assumption, because I carefully followed the Adobe instructions for problems encountered when installing CC. Once I do everything preceding the Clean Up tool step, I am able to use the clean up tool to remove all Adobe files except CS4. When I try to remove whatever there is of CS4 the clean up tool hangs. If I try reinstall Creative Cloud I am told I do not have access to my apps without administrator permission. If I ask my administrator he sends me to these help/support pages.

You generally need to have an administrator password on both platforms to install software. Are you an admin? If not, your system admin will need to help you.

Sorry, but if you are part of an organization with an assigned IT department and people organizing the network and security and support, those people should be able to support you in this. CS4 is not supported by modern macOS. A radical solution would be to reinstall the system, all software and restore the data.

Sorry, but of course they cannot support me in this matter because it is due to a deficiency in Adobe software for which they are not responsible and cannot have training for. And of course I could try to go back in time to reinstall a version of the OS that supports CS4 deinstallation and then try rebuild my current software platform in the hope that the Adobe bug is magically overcome. If I sunk the time in to try, I suspect that the odds that I still can't use the Adobe software that I bought while ruining my computer for other tasks is pretty high. Wouldn't you agree?

it's 100% guaranteed that you wouldn't need to uninstall cs4 or whatever is causing your problem if you reformatted your hard drive etc.

Huh?
What is the actual problem that you are having? If its needing an admin password to install software, we can't help. Your IT people would have to do that. CS4 has NOTHING to do with admin access or installing CC.

Is it allowed to contradict? Adobe CS4 is so old that macOS no longer supports it, including uninstalling it. This is an Apple created situation, together with someone who upgraded the OS in a way that the uninstallation procedure did not work any more.
If I try reinstall Creative Cloud I am told I do not have access to my apps without administrator permission.

Programs can run under user standard user privileges. Installation needs elevated privileges. That is standard procedure in managed computer environments.
Whatever you did, your computer is in a state that is not normal.
And of course I could try to go back in time to reinstall a version of the OS that supports CS4 deinstallation

I'm not convinced that this is possible, and I did not suggest this. What I recommended is to do, what should be done, when the system is so misconfigured, loaded with old incompatible software, that a normal use is no more assured:
This is a last resort solution, but will guarantee that no old software is left on the system. It will also leave your system in a state that is known to be healthy, at least from the software perspective)
