I'm having fits trying to create an AIP for Adobe Reader 11.0.07. Here's what I've done:
1. Downloaded AdbeRdr11007_en_US.exe
2. Extracted the setup files using the -nos_ne switch
3. msiexec.exe /a path_to_extracted_files\AcroRead.msi - I get "Error 1334. The file 'acroext.exe' cannot be installed..."
4. I discover the Administrative Installation Points section of the Enterprise Administration Guild.
4.1 - Step 5 confuses me - "Copy the installer files you downloaded to (AIP distribution point dir path)." I downloaded an EXE. I don't think that's what they mean, but I give it a try. Same problem.
4.2 - I copy the extracted files to be AIP that I created. I think Step 8 is misleading. it tells me that I use the same .MSI as the source AND target for my AIP. Doing this generates errors because I'm trying to read and write to the same .MSI.
5. I discover the post Unable to install 11007 update via msi package and try the instructions there and I'm back to the 1334 error. No joy.
6. I followed the steps in this video, Creating an AIP for Acrobat XI | Acrobat IT Tips | Adobe TV, but I still get the 1334 errors.
Following the instructions in Unable to install 11007 update via msi package appears to have resolved the issue for others. What am I doing wrong?

Try this if you are having problems getting the EXE to extract properly.
Install Reader.
Go to the following path on Windows 7 : C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Setup\{AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-AB0000000001}
That should have the files you need to create the AIP.
If you are still having problems you may want to look at this KB
