Reader Central Deployment

Is there any way I can deploy Reader from a central server (other than using desktop virtualisation/DaaS) to ensure internal and external users of our system use a consistent version of Reader?

Will this allow consistent Reader version use with consumer users through our web-based system?  Reading this looks as though I can only ensure consistent version use for internal networked users.
