Hi all
I've recently set up an AUSST on a windows platform with ISS7. I followed the below guide. The webserver appears to be working fine. I have done the check suggested in the documentation and I am able to browse all the files on the server. Everything seems to work until AAMEE 3.1 attempts to communicate with the server. The error recieved is "The server is not responding" when creating a package.
To create an overrides file I used AUSST, I've checked what was produced and the IP address, ports and URLs are all correct.
My first question is, will AAMEE 3.1 use the overrides file when creating a package to access the local update server when making the CS6 package instead of the adobe update server?
My next question is, does anyone know why I wouldnt be able to access the server to download the updates?
My last question is, How does RUM work with CS6? I have watched a video on AdobeTV but it didnt give a good explanation about how to use it or where to get it from.
Kind Regards,
Ian

Instead of a shamless bump. Would anyone be able to share with me how and where I should be channging the web.config file?
i.e
is it the local one on c:/ or the one located within my website directory?

AAMEE 3.1 should use the overrides file if you tell it to do so. You have to locate the file manually in AAMEE, so it needs to be downloaded from your AUSST server to your desktop.
Then the overrides file is used in the package created from AAMEE.
Regarding question #2 - sadly I have no idea. We are able to download files from our local server and I'm not aware of any changes we had to do besides those mentioned in the quides.
Regarding question #3 - take a look here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html - everything should be there.

Thank you for the response. I've viewed all the documentation countless times to check if I missed something but all of the troubleshooting check out fine server wise. I even turned off the server firewall to see if that would help to no avail.
I'll call them again

Hello,
I have gone through your post and just wanted to make sure whether you have verified that you are able to download the files hosted in your server. If you are able to download the files hosted in your server then there could be an issue with the override file.
Thanks,

Yeah, Im able to access the server from client PC's.
This is my override file generated by AUSST. I have tried with both IP and Domain name and get the same problem.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><Overrides><Application appID="webfeed"><Domain>http://192.168.100.18</Domain><URL>/updates/webfeed/oobe/aam10/win/</URL><Port>8080</Port></Application><Application appID="updates"><Domain>http://192.168.100.18</Domain><URL>/updates/updates/oobe/aam10/win/</URL><Port>8080</Port></Application><Application appID="webfeed20"><Domain>http://192.168.100.18</Domain><URL>/updates/webfeed/oobe/aam20/win/</URL><Port>8080</Port></Application><Application appID="updates20"><Domain>http://192.168.100.18</Domain><URL>/updates/updates/oobe/aam20/win/</URL><Port>8080</Port></Application></Overrides>

I've managed to find the problem. I used resource monitor to check what the PC was doing when I tried to download the inital updates. AAMEE was trying to download from the original IP address of the server rather than the address in the over rides file. so, I tried to flush the DNS of the client which didnt work. I ended up having to redownload the adobe media and AAMEE, there must be something that is cached within these files which is acted on before the overrides.
Hope this may help someone in the future. Took me ages to spot this.
