When will we get the Adobe Reader 11.0.05 MUI patch?

Hi,

We are currently trying to set up an automated installation of Adobe Reader 11 on our SCCM system, using the MUI installer. We have created corresponding MSP and MST files, and it all works fine.

Our problem is that the latest MUI patch is 11.0.04, and not 11.0.05, meaning that we do not get the latest security updates. The 11.0.04 patch dates back to late September last year, so we kinda expected the 11.0.05 to have arrived by now.

Any release dates?

Best regards, Jan.

You can't install an Acrobat security update on top of Reader. Use all Reader updates.

BTW: You might want to wait until tomorrow to build your package. Hint.

The 11.0.5 Security Update works for MUI builds.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your reply. I am pretty sure we already tested it, but we will give it another go. I will get back to you on Monday after our next testing session.

/Jan.

Note that 11.0.5 is a Security Update.  It is not a full update as 11.0.4 or 11.0.3  are. So if you are attempting to update from say an earlier version other than 11.0.4 it will not work.

The responders are correct here: Security updates are also mui compatible. They must be installed over the latest quarterly.

The Release Notes always list what the latest update can be installed over:

Hi,

We tried the installations from scratch today, but still encounter problems.

This is what we do:

1. msiexec /i AdbeRdr11000_mui_std\acroread.msi TRANSFORMS=acroread.mst /passive

2. msiexec /update AdbeRdrUpd11004_MUI.msp /passive

3. msiexec /update AcrobatSecUpd11005.msp /passive

Items 1 and 2 work fine. The installation conforms to the MST file and the version ends up being 11.0.04 MUI. When we try to run the security update, it fails. I only have a Danish version of the text, but it basically says it cannot install because the program being updated is a wrong version or cannot be found.

Any clues?

Best regards, Jan.

What do your file paths look like?

Are you using shortfilenames?

Are you using a custom file installation path?

Are you using a path that has accented characters in the installation path?

Thanks brogers_1!

You nailed it. We somehow tried installing the Acrobat update. I just changed it to the proper AdbeRdrSecUpd11005.msp file and it worked just fine. And thanks for the hint - we also downloaded the 11.0.06 MUI update and that worked fine as well.

All of you: Thanks for your help on this - really appreciate it
