Why does the Adobe Creative Cloud update install unwanted programs?

So I wasted about 3 hours the other day of my time and one of our company tech's time trying to uninstall Acrobat DC.  After logging into my computer and logging into Adobe Creative Cloud (ACC) a message appeared that I had two updates to perform.  I clicked "Update All."  The next thing I knew my beloved Acrobat X was replaced with Acrobat DC.  It takes approximately 103 keystrokes for me to log into ACC, and I have no desire to log into it just to use Acrobat DC.  Uninstalling it on this machine and reinstalling Acrobat X was a pain.  I only use Adobe Illustrator and have no desire or need for the other programs on ACC.

I really have three questions, the first one is rhetorical, yet an important one for Adobe management, and I am fairly certain that the answer is "Greed."  The second question is more poignant.  The third is one I doubt will ever seriously be considered, but is a reality that your customers deal with.

1) Why does Adobe "Update" install unwanted programs? I realize English is a difficult language, but there is a stark difference between "Update" and "Install Unwanted Programs."

2) How do I permanently prevent ACC from doing this again should I unintentionally click the alluring blue "Update All?" Having an update install unwanted programs is deceptive at best and at worst viewed by your customers as your attempt at pushing unwanted programs.

3) I lost 6 hours of my companies work time.  Who at Adobe can I send the bill to?

Sincerely,

Canadensis Castoreum III

Hi,

There are multiple ways for Enterprise Administrators to block updates for end users.

See the Manage Updates section here Packaging User Guide

Acrobat X support ended three years ago so you should not expect to see any updates for that product.
