My husband and I have been trying to install Adobe Creative Suite onto both sides of our personal computer's Mac/PC Partitioned computer.  On the Mac side all  went smoothly, but on the PC side we can successfully log into the Adobe account, and download the Set-Up files, but when trying to actually engage installation, we get the error message as pictured here: Server disconnection.

We have disabled our firewall and antivirus software, so this is not the issue.  My husband has tried several other strategies, including installing and running the Adobe Limited Access Repair Tool (run as an Administrator), which didn't solve the issue.  We're not sure who to contact at Adobe but our Administrator can't help.  Does anyone have any ideas?

We've tried it both ways - install on PC and try to transfer to Mac, and vice versa.  We regularly lose access to the online Adobe account on both sides and have been trying for months to try to fix this to no avail.  At this point we've virtually given up - sadly if you read online you will see that many others have this issue and we have continued to try many steps, including the one you suggest here, with no long-term success.  The program will load, start to work, and then will have an authorization error that prevents us from continuing to use it or to access projects we've started.  We suspect that this is something Adobe needs to repair in their user access system we believe... after months of spending literally dozens and dozens of hours trying so many different installation configurations.

i don't know what you mean by "both ways" but there's no one that knows what they're talking about recommends transferring (or migrating etc) adobe programs.

if you want adobe on both mac and windows partitions on the same computer, that may not be possible.  but, if it is possible, you would:

1. install the win cc desktop app on the win partition and use it to install your win partition programs

2. install the mac cc desktop app on the mac partition and use it to install your mac partition programs

Hi there,

Thanks again for your reply.  We did exactly this, but several errors occurred, one after the other, through which we tried to trouble-shoot.  It's been so long since we gave up, but here is what I remember:

  • We started by doing as you suggested, as it is what we have always done.  We installed on Mac - it worked at first - and then tried on PC.  There was an issue there as it didn't load on the PC side - we could log in, get to the Install page, and then would click on Install but it kept logging us out/trying to re-authenticate and ultimately didn't work.  After literally hours of various different tries, it did install.  Then trying to open it on Desktop didn't work, as once again it would force a log in, and then refuse authentification and eventually completely refused access to the Desktop applications on the PC side.  We returned to the Mac side and it started doing the same thing.
  • We tried de-installing the software from the PC side altogether, then the Mac side altogether, then re-installing.  Once again it would allow us to log in but the same issue of not actually being able to install it recurred, this time on both sides.  My husband did a ton of research and found some sort of deep de-install process, did that, then was finally successful at installing it just on PC.
  • We then returned to the Mac side and aimed to install it there, but the same issue recurred with being stuck on the Install page indefinitely, and needing to re-login again and again to no avail.  After much more troubleshooting we got it back on the PC side instead.  We started a project that required integrating CC into a workflow that included other software that is exclusively on PC.  After a week, the same issue occurred, and we lost all our work and after all this just gave up using it on the PC side.
  • It's now just on the Mac side.  Great, but we're not able to use it on the PC side at all, which means our workflow involves many more steps.  Not the end of the world, but this whole process was extremely frustrating and we were ultimately unsuccessful.

Honestly, there were literally dozens of other steps, but this is a "quick" summary from what I remember.  Long story short: it is likely impossible to have it on both sides of the partition, but we don't know why and wish there was someone from Adobe who could clear it up (or at least clarify/explain officially) as we have a user license that should authorize 2 "devices" and hoped to use our two partition sides to this end.  Cheers.

(Info for others reading this question: It does not concern Creative Suite, but is about the Creative Cloud app).
