CC is constantly draining my computer -- slowing up basic internet functionality with its constant search of updates and background processes -- god forbid they can't check that my account is active every hour.

How do I turn this off?

I moved your post over from the poorly named "Using the Community" forum, which is for getting help using this forum system, to a better forum.

I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

You can stop it from starting with your system. Open the CC preferences and go through all the settings and turn all Auto Update and startup features, options, to OFF.
