Unable to install Acrobat DC

Have all day to install Acrobat DC on my Mac with Mojave with a new SSD. All other CC app are working, but not Acrobat. Error 1.

Have uninstalled all CC apps and config files, and reinstalled several times. Even tried direct downloads of Reader and DC, but installation stops at 75%.

Even used CC Cleaner tool twice.

Please help!

start at the top and work your way down:

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Last night I spent several hours chatting with Adobe support. Three persons, none of them could help. I was told to contact my reseller as they found no active subscription on my account... But I have a site license with the newspaper I am working with, and all other apps are working on both macs. But I am unable to install Acrobat on my new SSD disk on my Mac Pro.

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with the service. keb-dagblad 

The information shared with you by the support rep. was correct. We do not see any Acrobat DC subscription or license registered under your current Adobe account. The only license we could see was for the Adobe Design Std., which doesn't include Acrobat DC (newer version in it) apart from that there is one canceled team subscription of Acrobat Std DC.

Not sure from were you have been trying to install the CC apps. Please contact to our customer care team via Contact Customer Care or check private message for more contact details.

Have you performed the troubleshooting steps given by the chat support person Error exit code 6, exit code 7 installing Adobe Creative Cloud  in help doc here?

As I told Adobe Support many times in our conversion, I work in the company Aller Holding A/S which have Adobe Enterprise.

I use my email keb@dagbladet.no as log in. As I have always done.

Some years ago, my company Dagbladet had an Adobe Team account.

When Dagbladet was bought by Aller Holding, all CC accounts were transferred to their Enterprise account.

I suspect my problem to install Acrobat DC have to do with Mojave OS on my other mac.

Have no problem with Acrobat DC on MacBook Pro with High Sierra.

And, all other CC apps are working my macs.

I have done all steps several times: uninstall, CC cleaner and reinstall.

For what it is worth I have a MacBook Pro running Mojave 10.14.4 and I have been getting the same error message despite contacting Adobe Help WITH a monthly paid for subscription....

ERROR: DW006: Apple Package failed to install successfully.

ERROR: DW003: Third party payload installer Acrobat DC/Acrobat DC Installer.pkg failed with exit code: 1

I feel your pain!

We need to know what is different about Acrobat DC install. All other applications install fine under CC - I can install and remove them without any issues. Some people report this is only happening under Mojave - I have not heard from anyone who is having this issue with Sierra. So something about the Acrobat install is not compatible with Mojave. As an example, if Acrobat Install tries to install fonts as Adobe products often do, and Mojave has changed the rules on accessing fonts - I have noted that Adobe fonts in Font Book cannot be accessed or deleted - then this would potentially stop an install.

I don't see any follow-on after the log submitted by tripfeifer...I have the same issue on MACOS 10.14.5 and I have followed on the troubleshooting steps.

- this issue only occurs for Acrobat DC under CC - all other apps work fine - and it occurs during "unpacking" - the app downloads and then during unpacking it fails at about the 80% point - I am using an administrative user account

- cleaned my Mac of all adobe files and started over

- also re-installed OSX

- tried SAFE MODE

- tried new user account - admin user

Here is my log... I hope there might be an update on this problem as for me I'm 100% down - can't get any adobe product to work although I've been using my adobe subscription for over a year.

  • Finder -> Go -> Go to folder and enter /etc/sudoers and push Go button. Highlight the file "sudoers" -> click on "Get Info" -> unlock the padlock at the bottom right, and change permissions to: System: Read & Write;  Wheel: Read Only;  Everyone: Read Only. (My settings were all "Read & Write"). Lock the padlock and close the Info box.

I'm sorry trpfeifer - I wish I could help but I'm not very technical and yet was able to do as instructed. Perhaps if you open and read the sudofile there are some instructions I noticed on how to change it - perhaps that will give some further help.
