I'm seeking advice on how to upgrade CC on roughly 100 devices. This are activated via device license. Once we open the CC app we are not prompted for an update despite choosing auto updates upon creating the package. The only way to update is to sign into CC with an admin account.

Is there any other way to do this? I don't have time to sign into this many machines and can't hand my credentials out.

Hi,

With a device license it is best not to sign in at all, as the entitlement associated with the Adobe ID can take precedence over the device license.

The alternative is to use Remote Update Manager or to build an update package with the Creative Cloud Packager.

I'd like to piggyback on this question. The "correct solution" doesn't answer the original question how does a device license activated software update/upgrade without signing in with an Adobe ID? I assume your answer is to have an administrator keep manually deploying updates through the network with the packager?

Hi,

You can build update packages with Creative Cloud Packager and distribute these through your preferred system, e.g. SCCM, Caspar etc.

Or you can use Remote Update Manager - this is a command line tool which allows the admin to remotely check for updates on client systems. Use Adobe Remote Update Manager
