Why can't I activate my perpetual Acrobat Std. and Pro DC licenses without making the user create an Adobe ID?

We recently purchased a block of perpetual Acrobat DC 2015 Standard and Professional  licenses.

Unlike the past where IT could download the install from LWS and enter the key for the install, now the install wants us to create an Adobe ID for each user.

We can understand that for a subscription purchase but why are we getting this for the perpetual licenses.   This is not practical or sustainable for every end user to be asked to set up an Adobe account.  We don't want to have to do that which is why we bought perpetual. licenses under TLP.

We contacted both Adobe support and our reseller for help and they both gave us guidance on how to get around this but neither worked.

We got a special download page from Adobe support but that did not work.    It still demands an Adobe ID.

We got guidance about using the offline exception feature from our reseller and that did not work.  Error message:  Offline exception grant process failed

Can anyone help us with how to get this installed?

Your volume license administrator can set up depoloyment options to avoid this. You definitely should not have been sold retail product, if that is what you have; each one does need an individual and personal Adobe ID.

Regarding the error "Error message:  Offline exception grant process failed" there are a couple of possibilities.

- The machine that you are using is not connected to the internet.  This is a requirement for getting an Offline Exception.

- The network firewall is blocking access to the licensing server that grants the Offline Exception.

There is endpoint documentation in the ETK for helping to configure firewall exceptions.
