As of Creative Cloud Desktop App Version 5.3.5.518, plugin and extension installation is not supported for users of ARM processors, (with the exception of the Adobe XD Plugin Manager). We regret this inconvenience and expect a fix in the next version of the Creative Cloud Desktop App due at the end of February 2021. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, alternate installation methods like ExManCmd and third party tools like Anastasiy's Extension Manager cannot install plugins on ARM devices. It is not possible to roll back the Creative Cloud Desktop App. We will update you as soon as a workaround is available.
For more information on ARM support for CEP and UXP based plugins, please see this article on the Adobe Tech Blog.
This week at MAX 2020 my team has been making lots of announcments:
- The Marketplace is now available inside of Photoshop 22 and up, and inside the Creative Cloud Desktop app; here's the Adobe Tech Blog article.
- Enterprise customers can have their Adobe Admin package and deploy plugins and extensions from within the Admin Console; here's a HelpX article about it.
- We've just launched the Creative Cloud Libraries API. Integrate Adobe Creative Cloud Libraries with your application, and your users can save and access design elements within your app or within Creative Cloud apps.
Ever since the migration from the old forums.adobe.com to the new community.adobe.com forums, I've been working to find a new home for the previous Add-ons/Extensions forum: https://forums.adobe.com/community/creative_cloud/add-ons/extensions
Initially, threads migrated from Add-ons/Extensions were moved to Get Started -> Exchange: https://community.adobe.com/t5/get-started/bd-p/get-started?page=1&sort=relevance&filter=all&topics=exchange This was not ideal, since "Get Started" speaks to either Creative Cloud beginners and/or forum newbies. Many people who distribute on the Exchange are advanced Creative Cloud users, long-time scripters, developers, and coders.
Although absent immediated after the initial migration, many scripter/developer subforums have returned under their respective product umbrellas, for example, the Premiere Pro SDK area, although absent initially, has since been re-created by community members here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/bd-p/premiere-pro?page=1&sort=relevance&filter=all&topics=sdk
In case you happen to be looking for one of the old sub-forums, I have come up with this chart:
Number of posts | Product | Topic Label |
Destination Board
|
2612 | After Effects | Scripting
After Effects | SDK | ||
10 | Audition | SDK | |
875 | Bridge | Scripting | |
4806 | Illustrator | Scripting
Illustrator | SDK | ||
18387 | InDesign | Scripting
InDesign | SDK | ||
InDesign | Server developers
6404 | Photoshop | Actions and scripting
Photoshop | SDK | ||
463 | Premiere Pro | SDK | |
595 | After Effects | Expressions
292 | Adobe Animate | Exchange extensions
428 | Download & Install - formerly known as "Get Started" | Exchange
30609 | Animate | ActionScript
4 | XD | XD Extensibility | |
13783 | Dreamweaver | Server side applications
Dreamweaver | Extensions
491 | Lightroom Classic | SDK
79759 | Total |
Let me know if I've missed anything.
Stay tuned as many threads from before the migration are scheduled to be restored from the archive later this month.
