My organization has upgraded our hardware from laptops to combo laptop/tablet machines. None of the apps transferred and each had to be re-installed manually. Fireworks CS6 has been part of our plan/package since April 2015 or 2016 but since the new machine, it has gone into a 30-trial version. Our Cloud package was renewed last January but the serial doesn't work. How can I fix this issue and who could provide us with the correct serial number?

You wont enter a serial if its a CC subscription. Is there a 'license this software' button? If yes, click it, otherwise, close Fireworks, launch the creative cloud app & select the log out option & exit the CC app. Now launch Fireworks again, you should be prompted to login with your Adobe credentials, do that, if you see a 'license this software' button, click it.

On mac after clicking 'license this software" the Adobe Application manager still displays the Serial number - provide serial number input boxes.

I'm assuming you're on Windows machines? You could try the solution of installing Firework with an offline istaller here.
If your company is on a multi-license subscription, your I.T. admin can slso reach out to Adobe support for help.
