We have a Creative Cloud All Apps plan which thankfully includes Fireworks. Sometime last week (January 2-5) Fireworks would not open. We now get the error message I've attached. We've uninstalled both Fireworks and CC several times and still, we get the error message attached. Adobe "Support" won't help because it's no longer supported. Any help you could provide would be appreciated, cheers.

I completely uninstalled every CC app (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) first and then the main CC app. Then I restarted and reinstalled the main CC app and all of the other apps, including Fireworks. This finally worked to get Fireworks to open and work.

I keep being told that I need to go into my subscription manager in order to use FW - over and over. This while being already logged in to CC at the SAME TIME.
I rely on FW for daily work. This is incredibly inconvenient.

Yes, the trial version has a 30-day trial period.

- Best advice: Replace FW with modern software (see below).
- Export layered PNGs to PSDs or TIFFs while you still can.
- Legacy FW has been on life support for a dozen years. Time is running out...

To complete what @Nancy OShea propose, you still have the online Photopea editor (https://www.photopea.com/) that wonderfully complete FW, it opens FW PNG format preserving most of the parameters, and for information , its native format is PSD.

Thank you!! I have been sweating bullets all day trying to find a way to open up my thousands of fw.png files. My fireworks install is having the same error. https://photopea.com is AMAZING!

For people getting Adobe Application Manager "missing or damaged" error when trying to install Fireworks CS6 via Creative Cloud FOR THE FIRST TIME:
Uninnstalling everything is not the solution, you will just waste your time (the OP probably had some other issue or wasn't his first install)
This is the actual solution: (Keep Creative Cloud app closed / shutdown for all of this)
1) Unistall Fireworks
- You might not even have the option to remove it from Creative Cloud, and from Windows Add/Remove programs it might error out. If that is the case:
Download the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool from here
Run it as administrator then select ALL OPTION then select Adobe Fireworks CS6 from the list (you only need to remove it, nothing else)
2) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ and delete the folder 'OOBE' (or rename if delete fails.)
3) Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\ and delete the folder 'CS6ServiceManager' (or rename)
4) Download offline Fireworks installer from here
- Scroll the page to the table with the files and look for Fireworks CS6, filename should be Fireworks_12_LS16.exe
- Important that you visit this adobe link first and sign in before trying to download
5) Install Fireworks with the offline installer.
- Select TRY IT during install, you won't have a serial key if you only have Creative Cloud licenses.
- On a next step it will ask you to LICENCE IT, for you to Log In. Select this option, you will present with a QRCODE window + a link that you can copy and paste on your browser. Do it and authenticate with your Adobe account.
- It will take a second and the QRCode window will detect you authenticated properly and will continue.
- After everything is done, Fireworks CS6 should open normally.
You can then resume using Creative Cloud normally for other apps.
Fireworks will NOT appear as an Auto Update option inside CC preferences as is no longer supported by it.

Not surprising. Fireworks hasn't received an update since it's release 12+ years ago. It's essentially the same software today as it was in 2012. Meanwhile, everything around it has changed significantly.
Obviously, this reinstallation procedure only works for Windows PCs that still support 32-bit installers. No joy for Mac users. 😓

I don't understand the purpose of your reply.

You do know that MacOS High Sierra was the last MacOS version to support 32-bit apps right? So even if she downloads that .dmg file as you mentioned, if it's on MacOS Catalina or higher, it will simply not work. The purpose of her reply was to provide that information to uninformed people like you.

1. MacOS 10.15 (Catalina) forward won't install legacy 32-bit apps. You need 64-bit software that's compatible with modern Mac architecture.
2. Anyone still using Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave is doing so at their own risk. Apple stopped supporting older OSs and is no longer releasing security updates for them.
3. Windows has maintained some backward compatibility via 'compatibility mode.' But even that's uncertain depending on which Windows Version & Edition (Home/Pro) you have.
Also relevant to this discussion:
- Adobe already removed many old installers from their servers.
- Aged-out activation servers are gone or fading fast.
- Even if you succeed in installing from original disks, activation of your product may be impossible. When the trial expires in a few days, it will stop working.
- Your mileage may vary by product, license, & language.
Good luck.

Ahh, I just realized you are the "Expert" that provided the "best advice" above of "Replace FW with modern software" without realizing if someone is asking about FW, and they have the license for it, it's because they WANT IT (and have the rights for it)
Good lord this is like MS forums with the so called experts...

UPDATED SOLUTION - Jun 5th 2024
TIme and time again Fireworks would still give errors and force me to do it all over again.
After much research, it seems a different fix is now more permantent:
- Remove Fireworks completelly with the Adobe Cleaner Tool, as well anything CS6 related.
- Double check to delete any remaining folder for it and CS6.
- From Creative Cloud, download / install MUSE CC software. (Don't try / need to open it, weirdly enough, this software doesn't open)
- Install Fireworks - you can try from CC directly, if doesn't work, try the offline installer.
Fireworks should go with the usual procedures of being in TRIAL mode first, then ask you to LICENCE IT with login/ QR code, just follow the normal steps.
You might need to restart the PC in the end.
If it fails, you might need to repead the process again.
Since I did this more than 3 months ago, even after CC updates, Fireworks continues to work.

Mine has worked fine for years - just used Older Apps to show it whenever I change laptops etc. A couple of months ago got a message my plan was about to increase in price so I contacted live chat, and they said to use a link to keep the price. Then firework wasnt there and they told me to delete everything, sent me a download link - but it was for a trial - 30 days - and asking me to then register it. I have never had a serial number. I went on live chat and asked to cancel as I only use fireworks - no point paying monthy for the full suite - creative cloud - if I dont use any of it. They gave a couple of free months so see if it could get fixed. So I was sent a link to download the trial - again - and again the count down has begun.
Id happily pay for a damn serial number but of course its no longer available. Anyone know how to get a serial number? Or what to do to just keep getting the 30 day trial if need be. As live chat said nothing could be done I will cancel - but Im furious as it was all working fine until the price change. I actually wonder if it was still there in older apps but the act of downloading the trial version changed things? No idea. But any downloads just give me the trial version - previously the app just opened in my creative suite account, after download if necessary.
So Im saying goodbye to Adobe and - not that they will care - will be telling them how cross I am - had I known this would happen Id prob have just kept paying at the higher rate. Thats how much I use fireworks. And yes, I have tried other stuff recommended as 'like firewworks' - but its not. And I wonder why on earth they woud turn down my money - what is the reason to drop an app that is loved by so many. Its literally the reason Ive been paying at least £16 a month for years!!
So - is there a way to get a serial number - or a way to get the trial every time it expires? Or any other work around?
Emma

No.
Fireworks in Creative Cloud plan has been discontinued and is no longer available.
Unless you previously purchased a valid license for FW (before 2017), your only option is to use a modern replacement app.
