I can't belive this has been 12 months already.
I first jumped on this forum (subject Fireworks) back on Feb 9 2021 after Fireworks went past 28 days trial period.
I used fireworks a lot, I'm in a graphic artist roll but I came up through the ranks of web design and graphics for web. I grew up on Fireworks. It's what I knew and I was speedy on it.
Even today while working in the print realm most mos of my work is for digital.
I run 4 machines. My home-office machine, a machine at the office (main), a machine at my head quarters office (out of state) and a 2nd home machine because it still has working Fireworks on it.
Fireworks died from my main office machine because i'd let it go past it's 28 days grace period. I didn't really know what was going on when it started asking for a licence out of the blue. I had a fricken licence it wasn't going to drop dead was it.
Wrong. After I worked out what was going on and getting on to this forum. I managed to save it from dying on my home machine. And found I was remote desktopping to my home machine to work with legacy FW.PNG files.
Pain in the (abuse removed by moderator) but I was getting around the problem while honing my PhtoShop skills ( I hate PhotoShop)
But today after finding a couple of spare hours after getting nextweeks campaign out, I worked on getting fireworks back .
AND I DID.
Heres what I did. All the phaphing about with Paul M's suggestions did not work. But got me going on my Home machine (pre 28 days)
But nothing would get FW back up and running on my Office machine. Not the Muse solution. Not the Adobe cleaner tool solution. Nothing.
Today
I removed all traces of FW. and closed down.
I signed-out of Creative Cloud. and closed down.
I disbaled my network connectin.
I installed Fireworks (only) from CS6 download. Something I downloaded months ago upon Paul M's suggestion.
I installed trial version.
Opened FW (successfully for the first time on this machine in 12 Months)
closed it down and opened it a 2nd and 3rd time.
Closed it down and shut down the PC.
Restareted and opened Fireworks.(successfully - no nag)
Closed it down.
restarted Creative Cloud.
Opened FW. SUCCESSFULLY no nag.
Ope

Good for you! 😃
Prepare an exit strategy to other graphics software now while you still can. Export your layered PNG files to layered PSDs or TIFs. FW is on life support & won't last forever.
Best of luck.

I only install from the offline installer and haven't had any issues for sometime 🤞 ... Keep the Fireworks offline installer safe for next time 👍
I have some Fireworks Commands for batch converting FW PNGs to other layered formats like PSD too if you need them.

hello Paul... that's a good news... Few times ago I discovered throught this forum the Photopea project, that already open PNG Layered, end save it to PSD, however some settings, or filters, are flatten.
If you don't mind, I'm interested on your script ? Please, can you tell more about it ?

here they are 🙂 .... Jut unzip and copy to Fireworks Commands folder, converted images are saved in same folder as FW PNGs ... I don't think the PSD export feature in Fireworks is perfect but I think it will retain more editability than Photopea.

Thanks Paul.
