Three days ago my FP stopped working last thing I did was download http://http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/?ref=google_pctools_en&gclid=CI6s68uE6qMCFSFVgwodTRwP3Q...
My Norton Anti-virus subscription ended and was looking for a free one to replace it with. Everything was working fine aftr the installation but I had not gone back online to surf the web until the following morning. As soon as I opened up Firefox it froze so i opened task manager to close it. That's when the FP stopped working. I keep getting the missing plug-in pop up saying I need Adobe Flash Player.
I have been looking in the forums and mostly everything is for IE I personally don't use it and would like to get FF running with FP properly.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times with restarting my computer after each time.
In my addons Adobe only shows up for Acrobat Reader. I have no ActiveX control and do not have DML installed.
Currently only firewall running is windows and I am the Admin for this laptop.
I also tried this links suggestion http://http://tutorial.downloadatoz.com/activate-flash-player-in-ie-firefox.html.
Currently in my aFlash folder i have:
FlashInstall Text Doc 87KB
flashplayer.xpt XPT File 1KB
FlashUti10i_Plugin App 228KB
NPSWF32 DLL File 5,830KB
I'am running:
Vista 32Bit
Firefox 3.6.8
Shockwave Player 11.5
Any help is very much appreciated and look forward to any suggestions.
Side note: My scroll bar is on my left side now do not know how to get it back on the right side.

Hi, here are some links you can check out:

It just seems that it is something I wouldn't want on my computer. Too much controversy for my liking.
You may have to use the SEARCH function from Start and use different names to see where it is on your computer, if it is not in the Add/Remove.

Hi, I forgot about the SWF. Sometimes you can go to this test site and it will tell you that you need the plugin for FF. If it is able to be Installed there, then do it. Don't forget to Reboot when finished.
Adobe test site here:
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If that doesn't work to Install the SWF, then download and SAVE to your Desktop the FP Installer for FF:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
Then Close all browsers, you'll only be looking at your Desktop. If that PC Tools is running in realtime, disable it for a moment. Run the Installer and then Reboot your computer.
Then check your Flash files and look for the SWF plugin in plugins and make sure it is Enabled.
Ok, Now I am signing off in a few minutes.

I guess I missed this post about SWF, but I tried it out still cannot find any SWF plugin in my Flash folder. Also ran MBAM and AVG last night so got rid of a few problems with a few key loggers and 2 trojans which were in my Java folder, By the way PC Tool is completley removed from my computer before I first posted.

Good Morning, for me anyway:-) I'll answer this post first. I think getting rid of PC Tools was the best and then MBAM and AVG. I really like MBAM, you can run it whenever you like and the longer you have it and use it, the less time it takes to scan and the updates of about 5+MB are Installed in about 2 minutes. I usually run in the morning and at night.
Now about the SWF, which is Shockwave Flash the control for FP in Firefox. This would not be in your Flash folder. At the top of your FF browser, click on plugins. This is a browser plugin and would be there, so check again for it.
Were you able to Install it from the test site or did you use the Installer link?
If you used the Installer link then your Flash folder would include the Flash files as you had posted before. Just make sure they are the NPSWF vs 10.1.82.76.

Hello,
I am having the same trouble I went to use my Real Player and it says I need to download new software to play my clips. So, I click ok and it takes me to the Adobe Flashplayer site. I down load the program and my stem says it's installed. Still my Real Player will not work. I have tried rebooting. Down loading it again, and even in doing a search of my files I find nothing about it.
Any ideas?
Thanks Joni

Hi joni, just real quick. You didn't provide any computer information so I couldn't help you. However this thread isn't about RealPlayer and I understand you are having problems with it. If you'll start your thread and list your info with your first post then someone will be able to help you. Be sure to list your browser info as well. When you first come to the Flash Forum thread, you'll see on the right hand side- Start a Discussion. Click on that and then follow the instructions.
It just can get too confusing helping more than one person on one thread. Well, at least for me:-) I don't mind answering a couple of questions, but it can become more than that usually.
I hope you understand, I don't mean to be rude and hope I don't sound that way.
Thanks,
eidnolb
