Adobe Flash Player and Java will not install on my computer

My computer is uses Windows 7 Home Edition and I have all updates relevant to my desktop. I am using Mozilla version 39.0.3. A software progam I need to install needed the most upadated version of Adobe Flash Player and Java. When I try to update Adobe Flash Player Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player, keep the McAfee box checked (even though I resent that piece of garbage which took me a long time to to uninstall--but I uninstalled every file I could find about two weeks ago and rid myself of it) and am willing to have McAfee put back again on my computer, but Adobe won't download. I get to step 2 and it hangs there for hours until I eventually stop it. After trying everying I could think of I got the (apparently) not-so-bright idea that if I uninstalled Abobe and Java completely and reinstalled them, then they would install with all the add-ons- and extensions I need. Now, I don't have any version of Adobe or Java on my computer because they won't upload at all. So, I was unable to use my new software because Adobe Flash Player and Java would no allow me to update them, but now I don't have either on listed on my Programs and Features in Control Panel. The only clue I have is that when I try to install Java I receive the following error message: "Error- The installer cannot proceed with the current Internet Connection settings" and then sends me to Java's hjome page where I try every link possible but can't install Java either.
My computer is adequate for the Adobe Systems requirements as I have 2.6 GHz processor and 8 Gigs (7.5 usable)of Installed RAM. I also have Kaspersy Total Security 15.0.2.361(c) and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home Premium 2.1.6.1022 (both of which seem to be muy sympatico running together.
I would be very grateful anyone can give me a clue regarding how to get adobe flast player to install with all the add-ons and extensions I need. Cheers!

Hi Jughead417,

Are you able to download other programs from the internet?  Could the firewall in Kaspersky Total Security preventing the download?

Please do the following:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your %temp% directory (unless changed, this is usually at C:\Users\<YourUserID>\AppData\Local\Temp\)
  2. Create an empty text file named ADM.trace inside this directory
    • To create the empty text file, right-click in an empty area and select New > Text Document
    • Rename the new file to ADM.trace
  3. Download and run the online installer again until it stops
    • You can deselect the McAfee security offering check-box. It has no bearing on whether or not the download fails or is successful
  4. When the installation stops, go to the C:\Users\<YourUserID>\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe_ADMLogs directory.  There should be two (2) file in the directory, Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.log
  5. Upload both files using the instructions posted here How to share a document
  6. Post the URL to the uploaded files in your reply

Thank you.

Thank you for your detailed reply. I followed your directions and everything seemed to work, but I'm not sure why I needed to post the URL to a reply. I posted the URL for the two files in my reply to you above. Is that what I was supposed to do? What are my next steps?

Thank you!

Hi,

The comment was to just post the URL in your reply to my post.  No need to post the URL in a reply by itself.

I cannot access the URL, please make sure it's a public URL, not a private URL.
