I am getting a pop up of Flash Player installation even though I have not clicked on anything to start an update or installation.
I just had this happen and it was when I was on Facebook. I use Ctrl, Alternate, Delete to shut down the computer when this happens and do not touch anything on the screen, like clicking on the X to close.
What is going on? Has anyone had this problem?
Thank you,
TomS

Maria, It pops up out of no where. I will be on another web page and it pops up. I believe on top of the open web page. If it comes up again I will take a closer look and let you know what the URL is when the pop up comes up.

I just had the exact same screen as andrewk25276117 popping up on my MacBook Pro, for no reason, out of nowhere:
I will just ignore it (not knowing if it's a scam or not).

That does appear to be a legitimate update notification, and we just released a new version (31.0.0.122) this morning, so user's opted into Notification Update will start seeing this.
To update manually go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer. Alternatively, configure the system to update silently in the background: System Preferences > Flash Player > Updates tab > Allow Adobe to install updates automatically (recommended).

Hello,
I am seeing what you are describing as a legitimate Adobe update popup...but why does it appear RIGHT AFTER I CLICK ON IT AND ALLOW AN UPDATE? It is annoying...I have Safari set to notify me when updates are available, but RIGHT after I allow an update?...is this how Adobe does business?
