I am using Windows Vista, IE8, and ActiveX is enabled.  I upgraded to Flash Player 10.2, have uninstalled it, and re-installed, yet still cannot play videos such as Youtube.  I have also gone through all the steps suggested already in the forum.  What else can I do; I'm ready to scream.  Please HELP.

Hi, Well, this Forum is pretty big and each person will have different problems and the solutions and questions are directed to them. Some would be general tho.

In IE, tools, manage addons unders "Show"(very light text) look in the 4 categories for Shockwave Flash Object. Is it Installed, Enabled and what version?

Go to the test site and can you see the Flash Player logo (Red F) animation(spinning)? What version of Flash Player is Installed?

http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Is you system a 32bit or 64bit?

Have you received any error messages while Uninstalling or Installing?

Thanks,

Shockwave Flash Object is enabled, version 10.2

On the test website, the red F is spinning and it says version 10.2 of Flash Player was successfully installed

Mine is a 32-bit system

No error messages when uninstalling or installing

What next?  I'm happy to try any of your suggestions.  Thanks.

I just tried youtube again, and it worked this time.  Don't know what was happening yesterday, but hopefully it's going to work right now.  Thanks for your response.

Hi merlecuzn, thanks for checking and the info. Now that Flash Player logo that you could see animate, indicates that you should be able to view youtube videos. Youtube videos use that Shockwave Flash Object that you have Installed and Enabled.

Therefore, I don't understand why you can't view youtube videos.

Is the Shockwave Flash Object version 10.2.159.1?

Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back the files listed there. Since you didn't indicate that you use any browser other than IE, these files will be for that browser.

Also you can check at Tools>Internet Options and under the Security Tab, make sure it is set to Medium for the Internet Zone.

Do you use any pop up blocking software? Any adblock, Kill Flash, Click for Flash etc?

Any Anti-Virus addons in the browser?

Being able to see the Flash Player logo though would rule out any of the above being an issue but we'll see.

Thanks,

Hey, I tried youtube again after sending you this info and got a video to play.  Don't know what happened in the meantime, but let's hope it's going to work OK.  I'm gonna keep your emails if you don't mind, in case it starts again and I can't play them.

Again, thanks for ALL your help!!!

Hi Even tho I have no idea why it wasn't working and now is, glad it is  Hard to tell.

Keep in mind that when you Registered you probably elected to receive email notifications. These don't come from me or anyone else that replies to your thread. These come directly from the Flash Player Forum so you know that someone has replied to your thread. It's a little confusing until you know how that works:-)

Also it is best when replying to your thread here, to page down in that email notification and click on the "visit the message page" instead of using your email to reply. Otherwise your email is posted on the Forum.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully all will be working now!!

My Name is tlc5424,

My original post is lost somehow and can't seem to find it or have it posted so will just start it over again.  All my problems really began on 4/21 when pogo.com started acting up and to this day is in chaos,  Their support system is terrible and is of no help to you even though I have been a loyal member of their club for yrs and my dues now are $39.95/yr.  I would recommend them to no one if you have a problem.  But this a different issue.  As of 2 am this morning I was able to play bejeweled blitz which is a game on facebook.  Today when I tried to play it tells me to get Flash and then Refresh page.  Problem is that I already have Adobe Flash Player 10.2 159.1 installed very recently.  With all the problems with pogo this program has been installed, uninstalled and reinstalled many times since 4/21.  I do not feel this is the issue.  Also I have been able to watch U-tube videos and play bejeweled blitz.  This whole situation began today with bejeweled blitz.  I have not tried today to watch any u-tube videos, but I am not a very happy person.  This is all getting very frustrating.  I just see no reason to unload and reload Adobe Flash Player.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  At this point I will blow up this whole computer!!!  If that would help.  My husband is an IT specialist and he can't even figure it out.  So any help you can give me I will be forever grateful... Thank you in advance.

Hi tlc5424, If you would like to have help on the problems you are having, it would be best if you started your own discussion.

Above right under ACTION.

This thread for all intents and purposes is answered. Anyway your problems are different.

With your first post, include your Operating System/32bit or 64bit and browsers used and version numbers.

Thanks,

Now I am even more confused becaused under actions this is where I am suppose to be.  Maybe I was confused by your message.  But I was instructed to type out problem here and wait for help from other forum members.  Is that correct??  As far my Operating System it 64 bit.  I am not sure if this Flash Player is ok for 64 bit, but it was earlier this am at 2am, but not at noon.  I can look up other version #'s if everyone wants me too.  Just checking as I am just trying to get an answer to my problem.

Thank you,

Hi tlc, It can be confusing sometimes for new users to the Flash Player Forum. If you click on this link here or type it in your browser you will then see the ACTION & start a discussion. When that window opens you'll see a space at the top. That is where you will put something like Flash Player problem with 64bit. That will work. Then you'll see a page similar to what you see here when you post your message to this thread. Just put in your message a brief description of your problem. When you are finished, click on Post Message like you have been doing. Then you'll have your own thread.

Type this is the browser or click on the link from this message I've writing now. Don't use you email to do this.
