Hi, You need to furnish your Operating System (32bit or 64bit), browser(s) used and versions.

Using your browsers use this test site http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ Can you see the Flash Player logo animate(spin) and what version of Flash Player is listed?

Thanks,

Hello

Thanks for the email. My operating system is 32bit and the browser is

Internet Explorer 8 ( which I have just uninstalled and then

reinstalled).

The Fash logo did not do anything and the version is 10.2.153.1. I

really have tried everthing but when it says it has downloaded it still

shows no mb in the add and remove files.

Hi, thanks. Using IE go to Tools, Manage Add ons and under "Show"(very light text) look in All addons and or run without Permission for Shockwave Flash Object. Is that Installed, Enabled and vs 10.2.153.1?

Is your edition of Windows, XP/Vista or Win7?

Thanks,

Thanks. So the Shockwave Flash Object is Installed and Enabled, but not working? Make sure that is listed exactly that way, as there is another ActiveX Control for Shockwave Player which has nothing to do with Flash Player.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Right click and Open Flash and then let me know all files listed there.

What Anti-Virus/Spyware program(s) do you have Installed? Have you had any Viruses/Malware? If so, which program removed it?

Thanks,

Hi

Since I last wrote I checked Iplayer and suddenly it works! I don't

know how or why but suddenly it works. However I am getting a message

that the movie I am running is causing it to run slowly even though I

am not running a movie or amything else. This happened before it all

weht wrong, so I am hoping it doesn't go wrong again.

Hi, well whatever makes it work!! If you are on a site that is telling you a script is making the movie/video is causing Flash Player to run slow, then it's the site. Some issue with the site most likely.

Thanks for posting back,

Hello

Shortly After my last posting about the message, my computer died and I

could not revive it until this morning . I am sure this is something to

do with the Flash Player message, which happens on any site.I have just

uninstalled Internet Explorer and reinstalled it so I don't think it is

that. This happened before all of this trouble and at one stage shut

down my computer for days.

Hi, I'm not sure what is causing your computer to shut down. Flash Player is a browser plugin and isn't capable of shutting a computer down. It sounds as if there is a different problem that is happening.

If Flash Player is not working, then you just wouldn't be able to see any Flash Content on the websites/videos, etc. If there is a conflict with any other addon in your browser & the Flash Player addon, that could cause your browser to freeze, etc.

Whether Flash Player would be Installed or not, your computer should still function. I'm not sure what is causing your shutdown.

You could try Uninstalling and Installing Flash Player again. You may want to review the Troubleshooting Guide and try the Manual Uninstall/Install.
