I keep getting "Update Adobe Flash Player" message on my MAC; how can I tell if it's legit? I read somewhere about a possible virus (even for MACs).  So far I have gone to the Adobe website directly to make sure I'm up to date; and I have tried to stop the update message but it keeps coming back.

Thanks for the link, but that doesn't really answer my question.  When I get those Upate alerts on my desktop, I have no way of knowing if they are really from Adobe or not.  When I read up on the virus that was out there, they were using the update window to get on your system and that is what concerns me.  The update window pops up every few weeks.  Does Adobe do that and if so, how will I know when it's okay/real and when it's not????

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here's 3,000 words plus a few.

If the System preferences says it's up to date, you should not be seeing ANY notices to update (none from Adobe anyway). If one should pop up it will have a Flash Player icon in a black window. Also, it will appear in your dock. Maliscious updaters ( not that there are that many for Mac - it's why I own one.) will simply put up an "Aqua" style dialogue box on your desktop.

If you don't trust it, you can ALWAYS run a manual update check through the system preferences. If it says you're OK, the notice is fake.
