This is what worked for me!

Step 1. Go to Adobe Flash Player Download
Step 2. You and click the option to remove or install Gogle Chrome
Step 3. Wait the the preparing installation process complete
Step 4. At the bottom the the IE Browser, you will see Do you want to save this file.
Step 5. Click the down arrow just to the right of SAVE and the click save as.
Step 6. You can save this file to any folder, as this file will be deleted when the installation is completed.
Step 7. After the file is saved, the Microsoft View and track your downloads box appears.
Step 8. Click Run, follow the prompts and the file will be installed.

You will then be directed to the Adobe website informing you that the flash player is installed.

I do not understand "cannot" - what happens when you try?

Did you download the installer from the link I posted earlier?  You must save it to disk, then close Internet Explorer and run the downloaded installer.  You also must be the Administrator of the computer (or logged in as a user with Administrator rights.)

Since i can't see the videos offered on Internet, i have tried to

install the last version of Adobe Flash Player. I gave up after

10 attempts, each time penalized (after downloading

the Ative x control) by the warning : you can't install Adobe

Flash player being on Internet !

But to download it, i must be on Internet !!!!!

And can't see the videos on Internet and each time i get the

message : get the new version of Adobe Flash Player.

The most amazing is that i can find in the control panel that

the last version of Adobe Flash Player (10.1.102.64) is working.

PC configuration:

AMD athlon dual core processor, 2,1 ghz

Ram : 4 Go

Operating system : Windos XP SP3 32 bits

I have a feeling you are having the same problem as I am.. and also my son and daughter's laptops.. It seems it started last night but I thought it was just my flash that was not working.. This morning I found all of our computers were having the same problem.. I have a desktop and they have thier own laptops. But I tried to  uninstall the flash and then reinstall it and it would not let me do anything. I kept trying and it finally let me or started.. at the end I got this error message.. the download did not pass the integrity check (16297.304.448) so now was when my kids told me thiers was not working.. I called our internet provider and they were no help and said to call adobe.. I then found out they would charge money to tel me what was wrong but then I noticed a lot complaining of thier flashes not working.. So is it adobe having problems? I have IE8  and google chrome and though I can now see a picture on the google chrome flash videos they only play for a few seconds and stop.  So does anyone know if flash is having issues?

oh I have tried all the help stuff told to do on adobes site and even tried to download it maually and it just does not work. I even just did a system restore to 3 weeks ago and it still does not work so my computer is not the problem.

Looks like either Adobe or more probably Microsoft have messed up and we need

to wait until one of them delivers something that works.

My Flash Player won't play.  Message "Download the Correct Version".

Link takes you to: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ which offers to download version 10.1.102.64

Try and download and it just hangs as described in previous post.

But I see that through "Control Panel" and "Add Remove Programs" that I already have 10.1.102.64 installed.

I've reset IE8 to defaults.   Rebooted.  Same problem.

Firefox appears much more stable.   I would have dumped IE years ago except you need it as your default browser for Automatic Windows updates to work.

I'm going to use Firefox until IE8 starts working again.

Got it working

I think the problem started like this.

I was having the problems that you all describe.  Adobe won't play and it won't download.

So I used Firefox where Flash worked fine.

Eventually I noticed on the Adobe site that when you download you can select IE8 or other browsers.   Both appear to have the same version numbers.

So maybe I had the none IE8 version installed (are they really different?)

So I uninstalled Adobe Flash.

I tried to reinstall from the default link but it still failed (download just hangs).

I then tried the link posted by the guy with the upside down name.

This time (having uninstalled) this link downloaded and Flash now works from IE8.

But now Flash won't work with Firefox (guess what message saying "Download the Correct Version").

Hi, I hope you don't mind a suggestion which may help. I would check your Security Settings for IE regarding the Internet Zone. The Revised Adobe Troubleshooting Guide has instructions on those and JavaScript and there are Screenshots.

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html

Then I would download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller by RIGHT clicking on it and open in a new window, then SAVE it to your Desktop that way. Do the same with the Installer that Pat listed for you to use. This way you can CLOSE all browsers before running the Uninstaller/Installer. Be sure to Reboot(restart) after Uninstalling and also after Installing. Be sure to disable any messenger services that may be in the system tray(area near the clock). Also if you have McAfee or Norton, I would suggest disabling them since they can block the installation of the ActiveX Control that must be installed by the Flash Player Installer.

Once that is completed, test here:

http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Hope this helps,

eidnolb

yeah I tried all of that yesterday.. I got in contact with someone who kn

ows computers today and he said the best thing is to do what I planned and do a complete system restore.. what a pain that was but now it works again.. He thinks adobe or whoever did an update that messed up my cryptographic service or something else to do with downloading anything caz after I wrtoe all of this I thought maybe a virus had got in all of our puters but when I tried to use my virus scanner it would not work.. Seems it got stuck caz it was trying to download updates and they all were corrupt.. Then I tried to download a new virus scanner from my internet provider and when it finished it said files corrupt too. so something happened. Both my kids laptops are doing the same thing so I figure they use a lot of flash stuff on the internet so to me somewhere something went wrong.. And why is so many complaining about it.  Not just in here a lot I talk to have the same problems.. but anyways I fixed mine but now I have to reload everything back in my puter.. oh and I tried to sign in here and it said my name was not recognized so I had to sign in with my email addy.. Now yesterday I used that name all the time I posted here so why now is it not working.. I am going to try and see if there is any other flash programs caz adobe has lost my trust.

Hi, well glad you were able to fix whatever the problem was. From what you say, you may have had some problems before even trying to Install Flash Player. Flash Player is not very complicated. It Installs a couple of files into your Flash folder and (1) ActiveX Control into your browser. It sounds like what happened was a virus infection and if you are connected by a router then it affected any computer connected with it, including the laptops.

Once you have all of your computers clean and your Security working properly, you can try again to Install Flash Player from the links that Pat listed. Always use the Uninstall and Install links only from Adobe.

There are many reasons that the Flash Player Uninstall may fail or the Install may fail, but 98% of the time it has nothing to do with Adobe Flash Player.

Thanks,

eidnolb

I posted in the other thread how pissed I am now.. My flash is gone again.. I have been doing updates most the day after restoring my puter and it was working ok.. now perfect but it was working.. But after I did the updates I went to my zoo in facebook and it was so slow . again.. and then froze.. I went to petville and guess what.. no flash.. gone.. so no virus.. something is screwing with flash.. so now I will go back to restore tha d*m puter again and I guess I have toi add the updates one at a time to see which is killing the flash.. this is all I can figure out what is happeneing and you can say it is not flash or whatever caz it is not my computer messing up oir a virus.. not after I did a full system restore back to factory settings.

I have windows xp with internet explorer 8. I have been trying for over 2 weeks to install flash player and it isn't working. I have followed the troubleshooting at the bottom of the download page and it hasn't helped. I even asked my sister if she could help and she told me to also uninstall my real player and my shockwave. Now I can't get flash player or shockwave to install. I have uninstalled the older version of flash player and when I tried to reinstall that it wouldn't work either. I'm not quite sure how to put the image of what I see on here but I will explain it to you as best I can. After the download completes it goes to the Adobe flash player installer after about 30 seconds it will say installation encountered errors   failed to iniatilize. Can someone please help me to get both my flash player and my shockwave back up and running. Thanks.

Download these two files:

Windows 32-bit: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash _player_32bit.exe

Windows 32-bit Flash Player for Internet Explorer

Exit Internet Explorer.

Run uninstaller.

Reboot.

Delete the Flash folder in folder C:\Windows\System32\Macromed.

Run installer.

Most likely you will need Flash Player on Firefox as well; download it from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550
