Hi D & P, Here is the information that I need from you.

1. Go to www.adobe.com/software/flash/about.  Adobe will tell you if Flash Player 10 is installed and what version.

2. Go to Add/Remove and list everything that says Adobe

3. Go to Tools, Manage add ons and list everything there and if it is Disabled or Enabled.

4. What kind of Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware programs are you using?

5. Are you using any Toolbars such as Google, Yahoo or any others?

I need all of the above information in order to help you and as soon as you have it all, please post back.

Thank you.

Can you open Windows Explorer and go to this folder %WINDIR%\system32\Macromed\Flash;

In there, can you see multiple versions of Flash***.ocx ?

Ok, that's good!

But we still don't know what is causing the crash.  Can you open the Event Viewer (Applications) and see if there are any more information available?  (Check the time when the crash occurred.)

Hi there,

I have a very similar problem. For my case it is due to high memory comsumption (memory leak).

I have an asp.net page, using AJAX panel. Inside the AJAX panel is a flash object loaded using swfobject.js script.

The flash object reads data from CSV, embedded into the page.

As the page made a callback, the memory usage for my Internet Explorer kept going up, eventually it used up to 1.5 GB memory and it the IE crashed.

Even as I navigated out of the page, the memory usage never reduce. So I guess this a memory leak.

The only way to initiate the garbage collector is to minmize the IE. Amazingly the memory usage drop from 1GB to 80Kb only!

Additional info:

Im using IE7, memory 4GB, Flash10c.ocx.
