Running Windows XP 32 bit Firefox. (I have also tried running IE, same issues)

I've tried downloading Flash Player 11 and it downloads, gets to the screen that says it was successfully installed and tells me to click "finish".

Then when I click finish, the error pops up:

Windows cannot find 'http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/aih/?exitcode=0'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

And then a blank internet explorer page pops up.

And it doesn't install at all!

I have tried uninstalling my previous version of flash, I have tried downloading the plug-in installer. Still no go.

Please help!!!

Hello,

Can you please provide the FlashInstall.log file located at \windows\system32\macromed\flash?

What files are in the \windows\system32\macromed\flash directory?

What kind of internet connection do you have?  Do you use a proxy server?

Try a clean install of Flash Player:

  • go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550 and download
    • the appropriate uninstaller for your system (save to disk)
    • the appropriate installer(s) for your system (save to disk)
  • close all browser windows and run the downloaded uninstaller
  • restart Windows
  • delete any remaining files in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
  • if you are on 64-bit Windows, also delete any remaining files in C:\Windows\Syswow64\Macromed\Flash
  • now run the downloaded installer(s)

If you still have problems, please specify your Windows and browser details.

Please follow my instructions here to uninstall/then reinstall Flash again: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4081633#4081633#4081633

If you're not running AVAST antivirus, check this site which lists all the others with instructions on how to disable AV file scanners, web shields etc: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html
