Flash 12.0.0.38 SCUP problem en-US

Imported the new flash 12.0.0.38 active x catalog today and published it to our WSUS server. Clients are able to detect the update and install it correctly, however they continue to detect needing that update. I think there is something missing from the detection part of the SCUP catalog as WSUS does not realize the computer already has 12.0.0.38 installed.

Hi Maria, It says 1/28/14 as date when i goto this link:

http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/AdobeFlashPlayerCatalog_SCUP.cab

or use SCE to download latest cab.

Should it say 1/28/14 as date or today's date for Patch in SCE?

thanks

Hi,

No, the new file will have today's date on it.  If you're getting one with a different date you may need to clear the sever cache for it to download the updated file.

Hello Maria,

there is the same problem with 12.0.0.70 ActiveX files. Its a bit annoying that this error seems to occur every new flash update now.

May there sth. broken by the old 12.0.0.38 update within the system (sth. been left from the failed install)?

Thank you,

Sebastian

Interesting, it's working for me, I nearly thought it wasn't as the rules have reverted to the original state, but I realised that the new MSI now correctly adds in the registry setting for 12 that was missing before, so the original way it installed works again.

Strange. The Rule we received fo detection is SafeVersions\12.0 >= 70. This Key isn't present on our Win 8.1 machines regardless of Microsoft Flash Update has been deployed or not. As the Adobe Update for ActiveX won't install on8(.1) at all there should be a rule for excluding that operating system versions. Or am I missing sth?

Hi Maria,

that's nice. Filing bug seems to go in the right direction. But: the fixed rules within the latest published update checks aginst a bad windows version. "< 8.0" should be replaced by "< 6.2" which is the correct major minor version of windows 8.0.

Thanks,

Sebastian
