Flash player free update

Guest

A flash player update keeps popping up at the worst times and redirects my browser to a site called http://softwareupdate.installupgradesoft4everworks.space/ . It says there is a new version available when I am running the latest update. I will not click on the "OK" button to continue since the web address has nothing to do with Adobe. It has all the markings of the Adobe site but I will not bite on it since Adobe update has a separate popup when I boot up my pc. What is this and can Adobe track it down to find out how to get rid of it and the site.

Thanks while I am running malware removal,

Dan

Thank you for reporting.  That is definitely not an Adobe site.  I have forwarded it to our fraud department for follow-up

To follow on to Maria, I would highly recommend running the following free scan multiple times, until it comes back clean

I have ran Windows Defender and MalWareBytes 3 times each. I ran AdAware twice and I have a current paid version of McAfee LiveSafe running and have scanned using that. I have found nothing. I play Risk on Pogo. I am unable to play a full game any longer since this site pops up. Has anyone discovered anything?

Dan

Dan and Maria, I’m still trying to figure it out. There are a couple of options I remember now. One was that I was on Find A Grave and made a pdf of a gravesite. The web page was open behind the pdf. I thought it came from the pdf. There is a possibility it came from the website or Safari. I had clicked on an ad (X box) that I didn’t like seeing on the website to mark that it was inappropriate. Oddly it was for RussiaMate or something like that with a well endowed female. Does any of that sound familiar? Debbie

I just tried to download the Malware Removal and it doesn't work on a MAC.  Since I didn't open the download that came out of my AdobeDC, should I just delete Adobe DC and get a new version?  I will need to know how to do that.  Also, there is no place to report major issues like this on your site that I could find.  I only found this by doing a google search for the address that the person above gave you that my computer warned me of.

You can get the latest acrobat from Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

You can report bugs @ https://bugbase.adobe.com

Hi,

See Notifying Adobe of Security Issues for information on notifying Adobe of various security related (e.g. phishing, malicious download sites, etc).

Regarding "Since I didn't open the download that came out of my AdobeDC, should I just delete Adobe DC and get a new version? " What file are you referring to?  You're posting to a Flash Player forum and Flash Player doesn't come with AdobeDC.

I had the same thing as Dan (above message) last evening.  I did a search to find out if it was a legitimate download and this forum came up.  There was a download that came out of the adobe pdf page that I was working with.  A blank looking sheet that was titled mbam-setup-2.2.1.1043.exe and FlashPlayer.dmg  I never opened the sheet and when I double clicked on the dmg it showed that it was from //softwareupdate.installupgradesoft4everworks.space/   Which opens to some other business.  I tried the Malware removal program to make sure there wasn't anything on my computer but it doesn't work with a Mac.  I was wondering if I needed to get rid of my AdobeDC and put a new one on.  I just upgraded to AdobeDC not very long ago.  I'm not sure what to do.  Thank you, Debbie

mbam-setup-2.2.1.1043.exe appears to be a MalwareBytes file name.  None of the Mac Flash Player installer file names are FlashPlayer.dmg.

There was a download that came out of the adobe pdf page that I was working with.

Did someone send you the PDF document that had the links to these 2 files?  Flash Player isn't shipped with Acrobat DC, and if I'm understanding correctly it appears that the link to the download was no a PDF page, not Acrobat DC itself, right?
