Hi all,
I can not get flash player to work on my desktop which is running XP. On my laptop that is using Windows 7 it is working just fine. The first issue is that I can not download flashplayer from the browser using the normal site. I had to download the file and install. Even though I have the latest version it is not working in any of my browsers (IE, FF, Opera, GC). For some reason I can still view Youtube videos in some of the browsers, but the site does not load correctly. The space where the ad normally is on the first page is blank. Some of the sites I tried to use where speedtest.net and ebaums world. Neither works on the desktop, but load normally on teh laptop.
I have uninstalled and installed many times with reboots between. I also made sure the flash folder under Windows was empty. Both computers have the same antivirus CA Secuirty Suite. I am not sure what other information is needed. I have been having this problem since the new version came out. The version I have is 10,3,183,7

Looks ok, although the Internet Explorer version (ActiveX) is slightly old.
Can you see the Flash animation (rotating red 'f') at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ on any browser?

I only get a static f with a red outline, but it tells me that I have flash player.

This is very curious, and I cannot quite understand it. Can we try one more attempt of a clean install?
If you still have the same problem, please follow the instructions at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/839/cpsid_83952.html how to diagnose and report the problem to Adobe.

Hi,
I am currently attempting another uninstall/install. Unfortunately I had a check disk scan scheduled that I forgot about, and it started when I rebooted the system. It looks as if it is going to be running until after I go to work so I will not be able to complete it until tomorrow. If this does not work I see a problem I will run into with the other troubleshooting steps. When I click on the link for troubleshooting it said that I need flash for the site. So I will not be able to change the settings to do the troubleshooting, but we can attempt to deal with that when and if it happens.
Thanks for all your help thus far.
