Ok Milla121, that is good!! That is what we want to see.
Now what I need you to do, is go to Manage add ons and look for Shockwave Flash Object , Adobe systems, Inc,
Enabled, ActiveX Control, Flash10c.ocx. This should and must be listed. If it is there, make sure it is Enabled.
Next, Enable Java
Also, go to Add/Remove and see if this is listed there: Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX
Post back asap

Hi!
They are there, and enabled!
Also, the AVG is enabled!

Hi Milla121, well that is good news! We are almost done. Now go to one of the web sites that you were having problems with and see what happens. You did remember to reboot when you were all done, right?
Let me know. We are hoping for a "answered" for you.

Hi!
I rebooted, but I still have the same problem.. so annoying! It worked for almost 2 hours, so I was kinda hopeful..

Hi Milla121, If it worked for 2 hours then something else is causing a problem. You have Flash Player and the
needed Flash10c.ocx and Java.
Look in Manage add ons and tell me all of the Java that is listed and the Version numbers. Maybe you need Java
updated.
If you want to check something, Disable that Safe Search and see if that is a problem.
Something in the add ons is causing this problem.
Let me know.

Hi!
It has done that some of the other times also, sometimes it works for 20 minutes before closing down explorer, and sometimes it takes longer..
I have Java (tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper, but it doesn't say anything about what version
Then, when I click on "installed Active-X controlls I have three of the same, Java Plug-in 1.6.0.15
What is the safe search I'm supposed to disable?

Hi Milla121, you are either up late or early!! I am up very very late, actually early early morning![]()
That Safe Search is part of AVG, but it is in the manage add ons. Remember, go to Tools, Internet Options, then manage
add ons. Find it and DISABLE it, then click on ok and then check your sites.
I thought we disabled that before we uninstalled and installed.
Milla, that Safe Search I think is what you call AVG, so whatever says AVG In your Manage Add ons, DISABLE it.
You don't need it. The AVG that is your Anti-Virus is not there, this safe search is something extra and it is causing
problems for you. You are not Disabling your Anti-Virus, just this extra add on. Understand?
Hey, I'm going to bed, talk to you later.
We need a sleepy smiley face.

Hi Milla
I want you to look at the posts here. Each time I post to you or you post to me there is a number to the left of the date that is on
each post. Find # 50, 51 & 52. The On #50 I asked you for info, #51 you told me "they are there & you said AVG is Enabled! That
is my concern, how did it get Enabled, if like you say you Disabled it before the Uninstall and Install? Where was it when you said
it was Enabled in post #51? In Manage Add ons? or is it listed in Add/Remove?
Also you said you had Ad-Aware, is Ad-aware listed in your Manage Add ons? I'm not sure but Ad-aware has made changes to their
program and if they have added any Anti-virus feature, then that is not working with AVG. You cannot have 2 Anti-virus programs,
they cause problems with each other.
I don't have time now to see what Ad-aware has but you might want to check on their website.
Let me know what you find out. If you can Disable Ad-aware, I would do it and then see if that is an improvement.
Thanks

Hi!
Ad aware does not have any anti virus function, and has no component as I can see in the add-ons list
When I uninstalled adobe, I first disabled the AVG in add-ons, then, after installing the adobe from the link you sent , I enabled the AVG

Hi Milla, Ok, I would disable the Safe Search and anything in add ons that is AVG related, then reboot your computer and check the websites. Thanks for the info on Ad-aware.
Since Adobe confirmed you have FP ActiveX in your Add/Remove and you have the SWO ActiveX Control Flash10c.ocx and enabled , and you have Java. If disabling Safe Search does not solve the problem, then you'll have to take a look at your Security and ActiveX Settings in Internet Explorer. Is there any setting that would block ActiveX from running?

Hi!
I have done that, but the problem is still there.. I have checked the settings for Active X related things on the security, but nothing is blocked!
Should I see if there's an update on Java's homepage for Java?

Hi Milla, Thanks for your reply. Here is what I would do if I were you.
Make sure Shockwave Flash Object is ENABLED
Make sure Java is ENABLED
DISABLE ALL OF THE REST, including AVG (safe search) and ad-aware.
Reboot and try the websites.
Thanks
You have Flash Player 10 and Flash10c.ocx installed so something else is causing problems, not Flash Player.

Hi Milla121, I sent you a post, #53. Just want to see if you got it. The Adobe forum site was down about the time I
sent it to you. I sent it after you sent the one below to me.
Let me know if you did not get it.
Thanks
Milla, this thread is too long, so look down at the right hand bottom, you have to click on "next page"

Hi cdjetta,
When you answer me tell me what time it is where you are, it will help you and me. Thanks.
Would you please look in Manage Add ons and see if you see Shockwave Flash Object--Enabled
Flash10c.ocx ?
You said you had Adobe PDF Reader , does it say also BHO? and AcroIEHelper.dll?
You also have Adobe PDF Conversion Toolbar.
Now are you sure that is all that is in your Manage Add ons?
Also look in Add/Remove again please and be sure to list everything that says Adobe.
I need this information because you tried to install FF & Chrome and maybe something happened.
You need Java, which you did not list as having. You need to go to http://www.sunmicrosystems.com
and download and install the latest Java. After you install it, then Reboot your computer and see if that
helps.
Please keep the Adobe PDF Conversion Toolbar Disabled, the other ones are ok to be Enabled.
Now if you have any questions, please ask.

I am running Mac OS X 10.4.11
I've uninstalled and reinstalled. NOTHING works. Every time that I get the Flash Player image on my desktop and try to open it it opens in Bridge and then nothing happens.
Nearly every website that I go to tells me I must download the latest version of FLASH. Obviously I'm not the only person with this problem.
Please advise.
Thanks in advance,
Zee
