I followed all the troubleshooting advice but still cannot download Flashplayer on my Mac. It goes 50% then gives me an error message.

Is it, by chance, "General Installation Error"?

Download the FULL Installer here: Flash Player 13.0.0.201 Plug-in (Mac OS X)

GIve it a COCOA install:

Save the file and quit your browser.

Double click the DMG to mount it.

7.jpg

DO NOT run the installer.

Right click it and "Show Package Contents".

14.jpg

In Contents/Resources, double click the Adobe Flash Player.pkg

15.jpg

The COCOA installer will open.

Follow the steps to install it.

The COCOA installer is a last resort, but with Flash Player 13, I'm seeing a lot of people having to resort to it.

The downside to this approach is that your Flash Player preference panel might crash when launched.

We have a full .pkg installer available that will correctly install all components.  However, as Mike mentions, this should be a last resort.

Chris,

So, I should link to THAT DMG when advising COCOA installs?

Mike,

I would.  This is a somewhat new install package but it went through extensive testing from the Mac IT/Admin community.  It definitely solves the problems that can occur when installing the .pkg from the normal Flash Player package.  I would like to figure out what's going on with the standard installer though...  It might help to get installer logs from users so that our installer team can review.

On OS X, it's available at Users/UserID/Library/Logs/FlashPlayerInstallManager.log.  It's also easily found if accessed via the Console app.

Thanks,

Chris
