Hello.
I downloaded and extracted <delete link> into my old, updated 64-bit Debian v8 (Jessie)'s /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins (removed old Flash player v11.2 plugins):
$ ls -all /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
total 18368
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Oct 11 14:05 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Mar 12 2016 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 18785568 Oct 11 14:05 libpepflashplayer.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2222 Oct 11 14:05 manifest.json
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Oct 11 13:56 old
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2071 Oct 11 14:05 README
But 64-bit Firefox v49 and SeaMonkey v2.40 did not see this plugin. I had no problems with v11.2 plugins in the past. What am I doing wrong/missing?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
The version of Flash Player that you downloaded, flash_player_ppapi_linux.x86_64.tar.gz, is the PPAPI plugin for Chromium-based browsers. Firefox and SeaMonkey use the NPAPI plugin. You'll need to download the appropriate NPAPI v11.2 plugin for Firefox and SeaMonkey.

Thanks Maria. When will v23 NPAPI plugins be out for Mozilla's Gecko web browsers since Adobe announced supporting v23? V11.2 is very old.
I wonder why my Chrome is not giving me v23 plugins like in Mac OS X and Windows.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
The v23 NPAPI plugin for Linux is currently only available in beta (Download Adobe Flash Player 23 Beta for Desktops - Adobe Labs). I currently don't have an estimate as to when it'll move out of beta into the stable channel. When it happens it'll be announced in the release notes Flash Player Release Notes .

Hi AntDood,
I've put together a rough install script and a deb package. It works for me on Debian jessie 64bit.
The script explains everything what going on.
Disclaimer: script and/or deb package are as-is and without warranty.
If you like to try it pm me.
cheers,
Filip
