Hi Maria,

My wife came up with the idea of restoring the desktop to before I had

deleted the Adobe Flash...it worked. Thanks for the input.

Hi,

Flash Player ActiveX Control installers are only for Windows 7 and below. As of Windows 8, Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer, and Edge browser in Windows 10. All updates to the embedded Flash Player ActiveX for Internet Explorer/Edge are distributed by Microsoft via Windows Updates.

Please run Windows Update to install Flash Player ActiveX Control for IE/Edge on Windows 10.

Thanks!

Hi,

I know that Adobe Flash comes installed with Windows 10. My problem is that

I was trying to update it and was getting an error message.  One of the

fixes on the Adobe site was to uninstall it and install it again. So I

uninstalled it and now I can't re install it, I keep getting sent to the

page for enabling the Flash Player and Disabling ActiveX Filtering which

doesn't have a flash download for Windows 10.

Hi renemoya57

What fix on the Adobe site to uninstall and install it again are you referring to?  The Uninstall Flash Player for Windows tech note specifically states:

These instructions are NOT applicable to Flash Player included with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and later or with Google Chrome on all supported operating systems.  Please visit the Flash Player Help page for instructions on enabling (or disabling) Flash Player in various browsers.

Since Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE/Edge browser on Windows 8 and 10 the Flash Player uninstaller completely ignores Flash Player for IE/Edge on those platforms.

You can try the following options to repair the system:

It's recommended you back-up your system before performing either of these, especially the system refresh.

If neither of these options work, please contact Microsoft for assistance, since they are the ones that embed Flash Player in their system (and lock the files so that they cannot be easily deleted by the end-user).
