Mac OS. I cannot update or Install Flash player.

I cannot update (or install) Flash player.  Using FireFox (Latest version as of this morning.)  Mac OS 10.11.5 on a Mac Pro Tower.

I DID have version 21, version 22 is the latest.  I get. 

"Adobe Flash Player could not be installed."

I have done the troubleshooting steps below. Everything is good as far as I can tell.

My Shockwave Flash WAS set to, "Always Active".

I ran the Adobe Flash Un-Installer which did succeed. I then attempted a new installation, still no joy.  (  It did remove Flash Player version 21, now I have nothing. )

I've done several Mac restarts and re-tried the installation.  Flash will not install.

Suggestions appreciated.

I am having this same problem and tried the solution.  It didn't work.  I have embedded flash in Chrome, and it is enabled, but it's running 18.0.0.209.  I disabled and re-enabled it to no avail.  How can I get my flash to update?

Hi,

You cannot update Flash Player for chrome. Flash Player comes embedded with Google Chrome Flash Player with Google Chrome .

Once you update your Google Chrome Flash Player will be automatically updated.
