I'm testing the latest version of distributable Adobe Flash
V. 9 Active-X MSI package. I will need to deploy this package to
upgrade the old version of Flash Player due to security issue. The
installation only takes about 15 seconds which is great. The issue
we're having is... looking into the Windows XP Pro Add/ Remove
Programs, it shows both the old and new versions installed. I
tested another workstation and installed it directly from Adobe
website and it appears to have upgraded the old version 9.0.115.0
to the new version 9.0.124.0 with only one version showing in the
Add/ Remove Programs list. That is what we wanted to happen. Is
there another version of MSI package that we can get to "Upgrade"
the old version?
Kind Regards,
Don

It is recommended that you remove older versions of Flash
Player (unless they are needed for developer testing) when
deploying the new MSI.
There is a known issue when attempting to uninstall using the current MSI version 9.0.124.0. It will not completely remove all entries in the system registry. This will be addressed for a future release of Flash Player.
You can include the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller in your deployment process. The uninstaller can be downloaded from here:
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
In addition, the MSI is only available for deployment via the Adobe Licensing Center:
http://www.adobe.com/licensing/
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

I also had older versions (4.0.7.0, 6.0.79.0, 6.0.80.0, &
7.0.19.0) when I loaded 9.0.124.0 but none of them went away. So, I
went to TechNote 14157 (as mentioned in McNally's response) to get
the uninstaller -- after running it I no longer had 9.0.124.0 but
the rest seem to still be there. How do I get rid of them? Thanks,
Dan

Thank you for replying with the information. Do you know
about when a new build for the new Flash MSI package will be
released for download at Adobe Licensing Center?
