Have FF 3.6, Chrome 11.0.696.71 and IE 8 on a Vista SP2 with 32bit.
I saw for the first time. Right after downloading the Flash Player update on tuesday night of May 24th, 2011. Went to check on FF 3.6 add ons. Saw it say GetPlusPlus for Adobe 162102 (1.6.2.102) add-on and it said unknown plug in and grey area says Research.
I know this is after the install from flash player.
What up with that???
Thank You and have a good day !!!

Hi, This is part of the DLM(download manager) that's used when Flash Player is Installed. Go to Control Panel/Programs & Features and look for Adobe DLM or download manager and or GetPlusPlus.
Let me know on that.
Now, is that GetPlusPlus the only addon in FF? Are there any others that you don't recognize?
Using IE, go to Tools, Manage addons and under "Show" (light text) look in those categories and see if there is a DLM Control,
atlcom, or a getplus addon.
Let me know.
Thanks,

HI eidnolb,
I wrote last night . . . . somehow . . . when I hit post . . . everything went away. Was not going to type everything all over again. LOL !! Got off PC and into bed.
Anyway . . . . . I see in Programs and Features in Control Panal for Adobe . . . Adobe Air, Adobe Download Manager with Publisher is NOS Microsystem, Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX, Adobe Flash Player Plugin, Adobe Reader X (10.0.1), Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.
In FF 3.6 addons. . . . . . getPlusPlus for Adobe 162102 (1.6.2.102), Shockwave Flash 10.3.181. 14, Shockwave for Director 11.5.9.620. Says UNKNOWN PLUGIN for getPlusPlus for Adobe and is greyed out with the word Research. I disabled it for now.
Plus 2 other things that is not Adobe in FF 3.6. Google Updater and Windows Presentation Foundation and iTunes Application Detector. They all say Known Plugin.
In IE 8 addons . . . . . Shockwave Flash Object 10.3.181.14, Shockwave ActiveX Control 11.5.9.620, get_atlcom Class 1.6.2.102, Adobe PDF Link Helper 10.0.1.434, Adobe PDF Reader 10.0.1.434. They are enabled.
Big holiday weekend coming up. Beach weather begins. ya-hooooooooo !!!

Hi, I know the feeling of losing a message, believe me!! I would have went to bed too:-) Ok, it seems as if that DLM is really everywhere. Let's see if we can clear this out.
In Programs & Features, did you see a GetPlusPlus entry? If so Remove it and also Remove the DLM, then Reboot.
Then check that related addon in FF and the one in IE. They both should now be removed.
Let me know on that. We want to get this done, since the beach is waiting:-)
Clearwater beach is calling me
Thanks,

HI
eidnolb,
You asked me...........
In Programs & Features, did you see a GetPlusPlus entry? If so Remove it and also Remove the DLM, then Reboot.
I do not see GetPlusPlus in programs & features. Do see Adobe Download Manager. Which also says Publisher is NOS Microsystems Ltd. Plus 5 others under the name Adobe in programs & features. Was mentioned in post 2 above.
I mentioned in post 2 what is in my computer addons for FF 3.6, IE 8 and in Programs & Features that is related to Adobe.
Hope you having fun on the beach in Clearwater, FL. LOL !!!

Hi, The following is what you need to remove in Programs & Features if you haven't already. (you didnt' say)
Adobe Download Manager with Publisher is NOS Microsystem (then reboot)
FF addon: In FF 3.6 addons. . . . . . getPlusPlus for Adobe 162102 (1.6.2.102 ( if it's still there after removing the DLM above)
In IE 8 addons . . get_atlcom Class 1.6.2.102 (if it's still there after removing the DLM above)
Everything else is ok.
Well, I'm not in Florida, so Clearwater Beach is a few States south of me:-) That would be my vacation place though!!
Let me know if you've removed the above.
Thanks,
eidnolb

Hi, So you got another opinion, ROFL Here is what I said in my Post#3 to you, beach boy/girl:-)
In Programs & Features, did you see a GetPlusPlus entry? If so Remove it and also Remove the DLM, then Reboot.
Then in my Post # 5, I said:
Hi, The following is what you need to remove in Programs & Features if you haven't already. (you didnt' say)
Adobe Download Manager with Publisher is NOS Microsystem (then reboot)
I didn't see any "second opinion" posted on your thread here?

I thought I spelled the name right. Ouch!
Was gonna see if any Adobe Guru agree with your posting. That all!
How the water down in Clearwater where you are? Gotta be chilly !!!

Hi, LOL So I'm not a Guru? Ha-Ha, Well, I guess I better apply for my Guru logo:-) No problem. The DLM is a download manager and compresses large files. But Flash Player is what, under 3MB. The DLM is supposed to remove when finished but often doesn't and can cause issues.
Don't forget to mark your thread as answered since this comes up a lot:-)

Was just watching SCI channel on cable about a Japan resturant allowed to serve poison fish meat to c
ostumers. Most exspensive food. No way I am NOT . . . NOT touching that. Do not need a 2nd opinion on that one.
he-he-he-he-he . . . . Don't wanna die from that serving.
I will do that then EIDNOLB . . . . .
Norton has the different color text and has a yellow star with the word GURU next to a name.
I am just trying to do things right on my computer. I may be in special olympics . . . does not mean I can not do things. . . . .
I can not wait to jump into the ocean water. Can not wait to jump into my sisters pool. Waited all winter for this.
To stay on subject here. I will do that right now what you said EIDNOLB. . . . . Be back in a short few minutes.

Hi, you are a trip:-) In a nice way I wouldn't need a second opinion on that either, scary enough!!
That's ok for checking on changes on your computer, glad your contact agreed with me on the DLM.
Summer is a great time after winter, at least for those of us that go thru the snow and all.
Take your time on marking your thread. Enjoy the evening!

HEY EIDNOLB . . . .I typed oyur name right this time . . . . LOL . . . . I finally had time to take out DLM from Programs & Features. It took out the addons you mentioned from FF 3.6 and IE 8. It did what you said. One thing it didn ot ask me to do though. Never asked me to restart my computer.
When I went to update Flash Player. It had to install DLM anyways to do the Adobe Flash Player update. Alrighty then. It is needed.
Check this one out. I had the "Manage Flash Player Settings" open from Control Panal. Clicked on Update Now. It opened a webpage to the test page to tell me what version I have. Then I went to download on top of page. Clicked on Flash Player. So I can update from .14 to .23. Near end of update. Said error. Had to close the Manage page in Control Panal. Closed it. Went back to update Flash Player. No luck finish on update. So I went to delete DLM from Programs and Feature again. Back to update Flash Player again. DLM installed again and flash player now updated to .23 version. All good now.
Will keep the DLM. Because it will keep asking to install DLM to do the Flash Player update in the future.
I got big storms coming by around 6pm. Will check for a few more minutes and then again after 9pm.
Man it is sooooo hot over where I live. It hit 100 degrees where I live. Whew !!! Be nice ot swim right now. he-he-he-he-he!!!

Hi, yes you did spell it correctly:-) When you remove the DLM it doesn't tell you to reboot, "I" did, twice:-)
What I would suggest and you can get a second opinion, is to use the Flash Player notification. That way whenever there is an update for Flash Player, you'll receive a prompt right on your Monitor. Then you can click on "Install now" and it's all done automatically in under 2 minutes!! If you are busy at the time you receive the prompt, you can click on "Remind me Later".
Cool huh?

I know it's hot in the Western States; we've had 90's. Hopefully we'll get some rain!!
My sister just got their pool filled, hmmmmm...LOL
Ok, that's all:-)

I read what you said.
Went to FF 3.6 addons and it said Adobe Acorbat was outdated. Went to update it. DLM opened and a red set of words came up to say that I already have it. Still went up to 100% and then nothing. I cancelled it. Hope it did not nothing wrong there. I do have Adobe Reader X. But why would FF 3.6 addon say yellow say outdated? Says 10.0.1 for it.
Okay! Storm is near. Getting windy on east coast. Shall return later on.

Hi, hope you didn't have too bad of storms. We had some warnings this week but not too bad.
On the Acrobat addon update, I don't know why it would say it was outdated since it appears you have it. I don't think you did anything wrong in stopping it.
Thanks,
eidnolb

The storms was in other parts of my state. My area got lucky. All my area got was heavy rain and wind. Had my computer off for the first time in days. Because I thought my area was going to get storms. Always in sleep mode.
Anyways . . . . When my computer came back on. I know I have the latest version of Flash Player. Which is .23. Why in the world would I get a message saying a new Flash Player ready to install. Install or remind me later choice at the bottom. Wierd.
That be all . . . . Won't be checking back for a few days. Gonna be busy.
Have a good weekend. Stay cool !!!

Hi, Well rain and wind perhaps cooled it off some.
The notification for Flash Player would be for the next time there is a Flash Player update, not for the one you just Installed. It would make it so much easier for you.
Ok, have a good week!

If you download the executable installer(s), then you don't need the DLM.

It's most likely fugu (blowfish). In Japan, every chef preparing fugu needs a special license from the government. I don't know what the consequences are if a customer dies.
I hear that it is a most pleasant death; you die in a state of euphoria. In the past, some Japanese have used fugu to commit suicide. It was probably better than seppuku...
P.S. eating fugu is quite stupid in my opinion; it is the most tasteless fish I have ever tried. You can only taste the soy sauce it is dipped in...
